My Booma (grandma) is at Metro Hospital in Cleveland right now having surgery. My dad told me last weekend that she has Merkel Cell Carcinoma, and I was finally able to bring myself to look it up online lastnight. I'm just praying for a safe surgery for her and that they find that it has not spread anywhere else, but the words "rare aggressive cancer" do not make me happy. I'm trying with everything I have to just focus on the preschoolers today but it's hard to get her out of my mind. I spoke with her lastnight and she sounded very positive, my dad and two uncles are there at the hospital too, and she went in just before 10 for her 5-6 hour surgery. But I swear if I lose both of my beloved grandparents within a year (my grandpa on my mom's side was just nearly 8 months ago)....I don't even know what I'm gonna do.
