SCM1011

I didn't know you were in equity research.  What sector?  Once upon a long time ago I was a tech banker, back in the .com-heyday no less.  Lots of work but lots of fun too.  Back then, the "wall" seemed very low and I remember research analysts even tagging along to a few pitches.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Re: SCM1011

  • Cool!  I work in Industrials, mainly Aerospace/Defense companies.  Its interesting and I have a pretty cushy position (great hours, minimal overtime) but the next step up is pretty demanding and I'm not sure if I want to spend 60+ hours a week at my job, so I'm kind of coasting for now.
  • That's great that your lifestyle is so reasonable.  That's certainly not how I remember it being, even for the research people!  I suppose things aren't as crazy as they were back in the pre-2000 timeframe though, and Internet/software is a whole different beast anyway.  Is next step senior analyst?

Got it.  Well good luck with the decision.  I understand why it's appealing to stick with your current setup!

Thanks!  I'm sure i'll end up taking the leap, I just want to enjoy my 7:30 - 4 hours a bit longer Smile
