best thing about your week

Do tell....

Re: best thing about your week

  • Dinner last night with my 2 sisters and my mom.  We went to Red's in Rockford.  The food and drinks were wonderful and we laughed the whole time.  I love, love love those women!
  • Well, it's been a tough week.

This sounds horrible, but I almost want to say the funeral.  I feel like it's brought the survivors closer together.

We spent 3.5 hours at the funeral/luncheon, then went over to her parent's house for another 2 hours for dinner (they invited close friends and family.)  It was nice to spend so much time with the people we love, even though we were mourning our loss.

  • I have a 3 way tie:

    - dinner out with some of my favorite friends

    - I sewed pants.  They were going to be for Henry but were HUGE on him.  Willa now has a new pair of pants that fit her perfectly.

    - we decided to get away for a few days.  We're going on a family retreat from schedules and meetings and homework.  Traverse City bound.

That is funny. When are you going. I just heard on the radio of some event that was going on that would be perfect for your family and thought, hey I wonder if  MrGRSP has a work event there that weekend. But now I can't remember what it was or when. Sorry!

To honor a loved one who has passed and to cherish loved ones still alive is a very special thing.  I am sorry again that this happened, but how good that you are able to see something positive.

  • Hoektastic, well said.  Mol, your friend's death is horrible.  Spending time with other people who treasured her and being brought closer is wonderful.

GVSU, that IS funny.  Were there baby farm animals at the event? ;)

  • I got a chance to spend some time with a group of friends that I don't see nearly enough of.  It was a fun time.

Also, for the first time ever, I successfully did a shoulder stand in my yoga class.  Shoulder stands have always been a stuggle for me, but I finally did it!  I'm still a little giddy about that.

Actually...I think that may have been it. Embarrassed

  • hmmm...I looked at the calendar of events for that area and nothing jumped out at me.

    Nice work!

  • The chocolate cupcakes from Marge's.

    Being in Sweden!

    Jealous!

For me it was getting away with grownups one night this week and talking our chef into making us lunch and popcorn today.

  • Taking DS to get his hair cut. He's such a stitch, the stylist had to take several breaks b/c she was laughing so hard. He doesn't even *mean* to be funny all the time, but his cute mug and grown-up vocab make just about everything hilarious.

Plus, I love the way his sweet round face looks when he's all trimmed and fresh. He's awesome. :)

  • The fact that it was a no work Friday!  Otherwise, probably that I got to go to the Chiropractor.  This week was better than last, but very busy and taxing.
  • Modern medicine for saving my life after an overdose.

Friends that will come at 2am and get me from the hopsital - realizing that people care about me.

Being able to sew presents for my friends new babies.

  • The end of Laughfest. Glad I was involved, but not sure if I would do it again.
  • Got 100% on my math test that I took last week.

And the girl I tutor got a 96%.  I'm almost more excited about her grade then my own!

  • Lot's of school stuff this week:  Maria's parent/teacher conference - she's doing outstanding and is close to getting her silver medal for her AR (Advanced Reading) group.  Then, we had Pete's kindergarten orientation.  Oh, and I think it is almost confirmed that we are going to DISNEY WORLD!
  • Work World: Being told at a Child Study that I am doing a FABULOUS job with a child so unique that everyone in our building knows him. It's nice to be recognized.

Home World: Mere has started giving huge squeezy hugs spontaneously. She runs up, wraps her arms around you, squeezes as hard as she can, then goes about her business. I love being her mom.
