Auto clean stove?
Ive never used this function on our stove before. We are moving out of our rental and figured now might be as good of time as any. This might be a stupid question but how would I use it? Should I open all of the windows? I heard that it could get smokey or make the place really hot, but would it leave a smell?

There will be an "odor" but it should dissipate quickly if you have your windows open while running it.
We've only run ours on days we can open the windows.
We also ended up taking the batteries out of the smoke detectors since they were all going off.
The smell from ours wasn't bad...just smokey, and it went away a few hours after it was done.
I've done it once and it was NASTY!
I needed to clean our oven a few weeks ago and I googled some non-toxic ways and did this. It worked really really well (I was shocked at how well!) and it was pretty easy. I didn't have to scrub very hard at all.
Take out the racks and sprinkle about 1/2 to 1inch baking powder all over the bottom and the door. With a spray bottle of 50/50 water/vinegar, soak the baking powder and let it sit for 2 hours. Spray/soak again and let it sit overnight, then just wipe clean. I used maybe 5 rags and a bucket of hot soapy water and all the gunk just came right up. It did smell up the kitchen a little, but nothing like using the auto clean function. HTH!
