I've been working my arse off at the new job... and seriously loving every minute of it. Snoopy came to town, and I didn't even get a single day off so that I could get over to Ft. Worth to see her... I kept thinking that I was paying my dues when they needed me to build up respect, let them know I'm dedicated. I have only been there five weeks. I left my job at LOFT to pursue this...
The company decided not to renew our lease. It was completely out of nowhere, as we are a top performing outlet with no reason to think we were in danger. My store manager feels awful for recruiting me, my district manager said she views it as a "major company error." None of that guarantees me a position at another store, and even so, another store will be further from me, tack on commute time, and they might even put me at a Chico's instead of a Soma... (eek.) And that's just *if* there is a position available.
Boo: This feeling of helplessness really sucks. (and so does the economy)
Yay: I'll be around more often!
Yay: I've been feeling like there was something other than retail out there for me lately, and that I could start a Career this go round instead of having another job. I'm just trying to keep the faith.
Missed you ladies, and if you got this far, thanks!
Re: Well, it looks like I'll be around a lot more...
Boo that they are closing down. I'm so sorry.
Yay for new opportunities. Sometimes things happen for a reason. Most of all, we have missed you and it will be great to have you back around!
That sucks auntb, sorry about the job situation. Hope it looks up or a better opportunity comes your way soon.
But yaaay for seeing you around more! Although I'm not on much these days either as I gave up daytime knesting for Lent, lol.
(I'm took the day off today to clean the new house. Does that count as "outside work hours"?)

You're not at work, so I vote "yes."
I have been up since 3:30 AM. I am really starting to take after my mother with this "can't sleep" stuff. I'm not even tired. What the heck? Haha!
On a positive note, I did all the laundry, so I can really enjoy my Saturday off tomorrow! Hooray! I had forgotten that we actually HAVE a kitchen table, it's become a closet for the past week an a half. How embarrassing. It's all cleaned off now, so I am happy!
That does suck about your job, but good for you for looking at it as an opportunity. I'm sure something great is waiting for you.
Also I'm so happy to see your pretty face around again!
Now jumping domestically.
Well that was a crazy couple of years.
Sorry to hear about the job. Hopefully this lets other, more exciting doors open for you.
I have to say, you guys totally missed out on some good beer drinking.
Maybe next time. Give Fenway a kiss for me.
