Re: Talk to me about FL
I have no useful input, except your LO would never need to go too far or too long for a Disney fix.
You should look up Celebration, FL if you're not familiar with it already. It is a large planned community near Orlando. I think it looks cool but I bet it's more expensive to live there than in surrounding areas.
Most of my dad's family has relocated to FL in the last 20 or so years. They all love it and will never return.
Besides weather, the biggest drawback I can think of is for the most part the school systems aren't so great. Some of my cousins down there went to private schools bc of this. I do have younger cousins in the public schools (in Vero Beach) and they seem ok but not great from what my aunt says. The state of FL does have an awesome program for it's colleges though. Basically, if you are at least an average or better student, you get a large amount of your tuition covered by scholarship money for the state schools. One of my cousins had 95% of his tuition covered for Florida State U just for getting decent grades in HS.
