care package ideas

What should I send? ?I'm putting together an anniversary package. ?I have non-alcoholic champaign and a napa valley gift package thing from Costco. ?I figure he can celebrate in desert friendly yuppie style even if I'm not there.

The one thing he asked for is pillowcases. ?So, being the dork that I am, I washed them with my shampoo so they smell like me. :)

?What else can I send for this package or others? ?I have books and magazines, whole foods snacks, and that's all I can think of. ??I think I suck at this wifey thing. ?2 packages together, and I'm done. ?His coworker gets packages from his wife every damn day.

Re: care package ideas

  • What about like Soduku, etc?

I think you sound great at the wifey thing!

  • When my brother (Marine) was deployed he said they liked current magazines, mobile snacks, and wet ones or baby wipes to clean up.  He was on convoys in Iraq so it may not apply.  Another big hit is fresh, home made baked goods.
  • Has anyone mentioned naked pictures yet?

  • Are there any toiletries that he can't get over there that he likes?
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • When I was dating a Marine and he was deployed, I usually sent him chocolate chip cookies and a jar or two of the pickles he loved.
  • OK, I didn't realize your H was deployed. I sent my stepbrother a care package (clearly NOT the same thing!), and I put in Oreos, candy, some other stuff that I can't remember, some books I thought he'd like, and I burned him some CDs I thought he'd like. A mix CD is always a nice, thoughtful gift. My stepdad buys tons of DVDs when they are on sale to send to soldiers; I helped him pick some out once, and we stuck to funny stuff. I remember picking out one movie that looked terrible, but it had two really hot chicks on the cover, so I figured the guys would enjoy it.

  • I sent my husband (then BF) lacy underthings and told him next time I saw him, I'd be wearing them. Ha!

Everything you have said so far is really nice and very wifey.

  • Well, I can't actually send anything immoral like me naked, but I have ways around that :) ?I'm sending him my old camera, and it's pre-loaded. ?Ha.

I signed him up for some group that sends baked stuff, so I'm off the hook there. ?Besides, my kitchen stuff isn't here yet. ?I'd have no way of baking.

I sent him with a pre-loaded hard drive full of my entire music collection. ?I don't think he has a cd player. ?Just the computer and an mp3 player. ?Music is a good idea, but he has more than I do! ?I'll try to burn some dvd's with movies and tv shows, though. ?I'd forgotten about that. ?Thanks for reminding me!?

  • I agree with naked pictures.

    I'm thinking Boudoir Session.

    separately,

Maybe something to do with your dog? like one of his toys that the dog sends with love too?

I'd be dumb and take photos of me doing things....from where his perspective would've been. Like, sitting and eating....from across the table..etc..

Maybe a video? Do they make videos anymore?

  • My brother always appreciated DVDs...I guess they occasionally had access to a TV/DVD player?  Oh, and handiwipes/babywipes.  Seriously.

    ?

Oooh, good ideas. ?My camera has a video setting. ?Unfortunately my dog is with the in-laws in Phoenix so that she can get attention while I'm in school. ?I didn't want to subject her to a small apt and 12 hour shifts.

I think I will do some days in the life of Sibil, photo journalism style. ?I did that in Japan for my family, and I think they appreciated it.

I'd love to do a boudoir session, but maybe once I'm back in ski shape. ?Not right now, when I'm in drinking in Japan shape.?
