I need to seriously speak up more often!
Here's what happened (I feel like Mr. Monk!)....
Board president calls, I knew why, talks to boss lady and I hear her say "why, what's wrong? Ok fine." Talks to her about a few other things and then comes out and says to me in a joking way "I'm supposed to have a talk with you and see how you are doing and how you are feeling." The way she said it made me burst into tears and I just vented all my frustrations. The way she speaks to me, hating working full-time, missing Lucie etc. Well, she says "You're too valuable to lose and you can do in 20 hours what most people do in 40, why don't you figure out a reduced schedule that works for you and we'll see how it goes." So.... basically I get to work PT and make up hours at home if I need to. I'm thinking I'll probably do 9-3 but I may do that three days and then maybe 11-5 the others. We'll see. It was right as I was leaving that we had this chat but she also told me she doesn't realize when she is being nasty and like we discussed last year I need to speak up. I told her I try but it's not working. She was pissed that I went above her head but now I feel better that others know so she knows she can't get away with it.
So, I'm going to figure out a schedule that works and then go from there!
Re: Update
I'm so glad that you were able to talk to her and air out all your issues with her! And that's great news that she is willing work with you about going part time.
Do what is best for you Caroline and everything else will fall into place!!
awesome!! i'm so glad you spoke up and really let her know how you were feeling!
do you think you could drop to 3 days a week, 9-3? then you could just log in at home on the other days as needed and log those hours? i do mwf for work now and it's great. That way anything that comes in will be handled within a couple of days and nothing sits too long.
is arek down w/ you dropping hours???
so excited for you!!
Sweet!! I'm definitely excited for you!
