I just wasted an hour at a needlepoint shop near our houses looking at yarn. I didn't even want to look at the prices. And I only meant to go to the dry cleaners.
Do you where the Tuesday Morning is off of 44th & France? Well, right next door to Tuesday Morning is this AWESOME, AWESOME yarn/needlepoint shop. I think you'd really like it!
I have a scarf in mind that I'd like to crochet but I need to save up some $$ first.

Oops, I got into Dad's hair goop. At least I gotta mohawk!

Re: Kiz - Crochet Related
butting in. I LOVE needlework unlimited. LOVE. I am so sad they aren't doing the shop hop this year.
I have a bag full of cheapy yarn from Michael's I have to get through first before I can even *think* about setting foot in a fancy store like that!!! :-)
I need to get my stuff out again...I told DH I would at least use up the yarn I bought. :-)
Butting in as well. A coworker just started teaching me to crochet over our breaks, and I have to admit I'm pretty much in love with it. I also have to sadly to admit that two months into learning, I also already have a substantial pile of balls of yarn! What do you ladies do with all the extras (besides letting the kitties chase them around the floor)?
I'm glad to see some other "chicks with sticks" on here!
I use ravelry to find projects that use little bits of yarn, or make something like a hudson hat that uses scraps.
I don't crochet much anymore, I prefer to knit.
We should have a crafty GTG
I have a ton of scraps too - started making baby stuff because it doesn't take much to do them! I have a ton of friends having kids and a niece or nephew set to make their debut in under a week!
I find that rugs look really good with scraps - that way you can use up all your scraps, switch colors and if you didn't do a great job weaving in the ends, it's not a big deal. You step on the thing anyway. I just crochet in rounds - big flat circles or I do a really long chain and then just crochet around that to get an oval and then I switch to the next cheapy ball of yarn that I need to use up as I go along.
GAH. I need to learn more lace. I'd like to make a cowl neck warmer or SOMETHING along those lines for next winter but I'm having a hard time finding what I want.
Yes. Let's do a GTG!!!
Sorry to also butt in. I recieved knitting needles and yarn (along with a book) for my bday last week and I don't understand it.
I get the beginning row, but this "knit then purl" thing is super confusing!
If you have a crafty GTG I may crash it
and ask for some help!
