We haven't done a Fit Chicks this week, but I wanted to so I can be an AW
I know a bunch of you are doing a 5K tomorrow; I'm so impressed by you all! I hope you guys take some pictures.
I started a 7 day free trial at the gym this week, and went 5 days this week. I'm really enjoying it because the elliptical doesn't hurt my knees, and it's great just watching Real Housewives marathons while working out. I'm down 3 lbs this week, finally a nice substantial loss, 11.5 lbs total since January. I pulled out a pair of jeans from the Goodwill bag that are pre-Marcus jeans, a size smaller, and they fit perfectly! So that's super motivating to keep going to the gym; I'm going to go become an official member tomorrow. I'm still tracking with Lose It, and besides my splurge tonight at book club, I'm doing well with that.
How's everyone doing foodwise and exercise wise this week?
Re: Fit Chicks Friday
Nice job with the 3 lbs!! I have my profile set to lose 1 a week due to nursing and I hate it, I can't wait to not have to worry about that. I maintained this week, which I'm totally okay with. Last week I lost 3 lbs, actually, and kind of expected it. Plus I kind of sort of drank too much last weekend which then resulted in eating too much that night and hangover eating the next day
We were up in Maine for my sister's birthday and my parents were babysitting and I got a little too excited since we never go out anymore. On Monday the scale said I'd gained 8 lbs so a maintain was awesome! lol.
I joined Stroller Strides today. We did a free trial class a couple weeks ago and it broke me....strangely I enjoy that. We'll do one class a week there and I'm still plugging along with the C25K. I'm at the end of week 7 and have jogged 2.29 miles in 25 mins (without stopping) this week. Granted I used to do 4-5 miles pre-pregnancy, but getting there!
Anyway, I'm down 16 lbs since January and down a pant size, so can't complain
Still 20 to go to pre-preg weight and I want to be there before TTC #2!
Awesome job ladies!!
I did okay this week. After my long run on Sunday I was way too sore to do Zumba on Mon., did a 2 mile run on Tues., 4 miles on Thurs. and today I'm running 10. I'm hoping to be recovered enough from today, to do Zumba on Mon. and get back to my schedule of 2 runs and 2 Zumba classes during the work week! Only a month and a week till the half marathon and I'm getting nervous!
Food-wise ... well, I did okay, and whatever I slipped up on, I'll run it off today.
I guess it's Fit Chicks Saturday for me...
Congrats to everyone making such great progress, first of all!
I'm happy to report that I got us back on track with eating this week - all Cooking Light recipes - most of which were really good. DH did go and buy some Thin Mint ice cream, but I haven't really been too distracted by it, so he's making his way through the tub on his own. And since strawberries seem to be back at the market for reasonable prices, I've been enjoying my yogurt and Kashi even more - I look forward to it and have been avoiding work breakfasts, which generally consist of whatever fattening vacation-y meal we're serving guests...not good! At least not on a daily basis.
I am in the middle of the 30 Day Shred, which I have had to stop a few times, but I am at a point now where I'm looking forward to doing it each day, which is good...and I'm dedicated to finishing it after 30 days in a row, so I've started over...no cheating here. I even got a bunch of my friends from NY virtually "shredding" with me.
At this point, I'm just hoping for this weather to warm up, so I can start walking outside more without immediately wanting to go back inside.
The bad news: I was in NYC and had a list of places I wanted to go and things I wanted to eat. I got all of them!
The good news: I kept up my workouts in the hotel gym and did a lot of walking.
I am hoping that it all will have balanced itself out when I get back on the scale on Monday. I doubt I will have lost anything, but I am hoping that I haven't gained anything either.
It sounds like it's been a great week for people! Yay!!! Last weekend was the food/exercise disaster I was expecting with my sister's shower and pre-elopement family dinner. But, I was very good this week - worked out Monday - Thursday and ate quite reasonably. I'm pretty sure I put on a couple of pounds last week but I'm not checking until next week.
I discovered this recpie:
http://www.bonappetit.com/recipes/quick-recipes/2011/04/quinoa_and_spring_vegetable_pilaf
I don't like quinoa so I only used 1 cup but kept the rest of the amounts the same. It was delicious and very filling!
Nice work everyone!!
I had a good week. I ran 4 times this week including today's 5K race. I tracked all of my food/excercise and am liking My Fitness Pal. I was down two pounds, but then they were back yesterday. I also cheated a bit last night with a bonus dessert, but AF arrived today so I'm blaming both on her!
I have another race next weekend, so I'm hoping to run 3 times before that and keep tracking food and eating healthy.
Stroller Strides is a workout program for moms with little ones. I've only done two classes so far, but it seems to alternate cardio with strength and the last 15 mins or so are abs. This past week we jogged a few laps around an indoor track, then did some lower body work (calf raises, wall sit, lunges, etc) then another jog, then upper body work, then some more cardio before the ab work. I wasn't sure Riley would like it since we don't use the stroller often and she doesn't always tolerate it, but she loves the jogging and thinks the in between stuff is hilarious. She gets all excited and starts yelling at us in jibberish. She gets fussy by the end so I let her out during the ab work and give her a snack on her blanket.
You can check if there's one near you: http://www.strollerstrides.com/programs-locations/search-for-classes
I put in the zipcode for Portland and didn't come up with anything
You are all amazing!!
I was thinking of joining Stroller Strides, but now I'm scared...
