Mommas Check In

What's new?

Kiley learned to wave, though it's backwards, it's super cute!

Re: Mommas Check In

  • Cute! Jacob's still getting the hang of it. He waves not even 1/3 of the time we prompt him to. He's started clapping a lot more now, and when he doesn't want something, he pushes it away. I don't know what the baby sign is for "no more," I suppose it's "all done," but I'm afraid that Jacob has his own version for it now. This morning, I went in for a goodbye kiss and I got the straight arm Crying

Oh, and his new word is "Abby," his cousin's name! So cute! But sometimes it sounds like "happy."

  •

Aww, I miss having a little baby and eveything they do is so sweet and brand new.

The "terrific" twos have really started and wow what a treat they are, I hope we move through this quickly. She is learning all the little nursery rhymes and their motions, it's so great to just sit there with her and watch her face light up when we sing with her. Who knew that I could enjoy if your happy and you know it, the itsy bitsy spider, patty cake (sp?).

I have started teaching her how to sign her alphabet when she sings the letters, sometimes she can sign a - d other times not so much. She will sing a - z, but signing is to much effort I guess? She is getting better with it. I love that she is a little sponge and wants to absorb everything around her!

Her brother came to visit this weekend and she kept sitting on the couch beside him and then reaching up to give him a hug and then sneak in for a kiss on the cheek. It was adorable!

  • Jordan knows everything - EVERYTHING. And he's only eight. I didn't think this started until like the teen years...

I think babies waving backwards are the cutest things ever.

  • Xander is back to giving me kisses again, after a month long break. He is also now waving hi each time we walk in the door. The little guy decided not to nap much yesterday and then didn't go to bed until late, so he was not happy with us when we got him up at 630 today. I'm hoping he will nap at daycare. Oh, he has learned that he can climb on our dinning room chairs so now we have to make sure they are pushed all the way in.

Summer- Xander will push his plate towards me when he is done, or he throw his cup instead of using the sign for all done.

  • Campbell got to play with his 5 cousins this weekend (ages 3 yrs-18 months) and that was kinda neat. His dad's house is really open so he had fun walking all over the place and with all the toys. Its neat to see him play with other kids since he doesn't normally.

He learned to wave at 9 months and really hasn't done it since! And when he does its not too good. According to my mom he gives kisses but he's never given me one. When he's done eating he slaps the spoon away and that does NOT sit too well with mommy! She also taught him "where's your hair" ::touches his hair:: She said he does 'nose' sometimes. He seems to be saying "yeah" "huh" and "hi" but I think they're just noises.

I'm really having fun watching him notice and learn new things and how he's become more of a "person" but he's still my little baby in some ways too.

  • I love hearing about all these babies growing up.

Xander points at cars when we are driving and makes a noise at them. It's really cute. He also seems to be saying 'bear' when we read brown bear, brown bear, which is about 30 times a night I swear.
