It's been on my "to do" list for months, of course, but I haven't gotten around to counting those calories. I have all sorts of excuses as to why I decided not to exercise today, yesterday, tomorrow. But going clothes shopping, and thinking about getting myself into a bathing suit is just depressing. Not to mention the fact that Jacob is now 12 months old and I'm still over my pre-pg weight (I was within 6 lbs before Christmas, then I gained 10 more!!). And when I saw skinny minny Summer's FB pics of C's first birthday, I was realized that I have no more excuses
Now that Jacob's weaned, I can't count on burning 300 calories/day either.
Soooo ... have we been having regular weight loss check-ins that I've been missing / in denial about seeing? I know Geo's been checking in, and then I saw that Em is blogging about it too -- anyone else?
I'm on the brink of joining WW b/c I'm hoping that's going to take some of the work out of this. But I know that, at the basic level, it's going to be work no matter what I do.
Re: Who is dieting / trying to lose weight?
I'm right there. Right now my body and I aren't getting along b/c it won't let go of any weight in the last 2 months. I haven't gained, but it won't let go either!
I'm going to really change things up after vacation. I'm thinking about ww online, but not totally sold.

Thanks
. I'm worried now that I'm not burning the calories from nursing that I'll have to do something to keep it off.
I don't think we've done check-ins in awhile. We should though. The more things keeping me accountable, the better. The blog helps with that too.
Also, I totally recommend Weight Watchers. It's an easy way to stay on track. I did it right before the wedding and lost 30 pounds. I've gained them all back of course... The only negative to WW is that it doesn't really require you to change what you eat, just how much you eat of it.
Welcome to the dark side
I was just telling Andrew last night that I need to join WW again. I'm at my pre-pregnancy weight (or within 2-5 pounds of it) but I would like to lose 30 more pounds, if not more. Now that the weather is nice, I plan on going on walks after work everyday with Xander. I feel like I have a lot of aches and pains now since I'm carrying my weight differently since having Xander.

Weight watchers rocks!
I've done in 1000 times before, and messed up my points by Monday, Noon. However going to meetings for me is what does it, it holds me so accountable. I actually can't wait to go to meetings just to see how much I've lost.
It's true, you can eat whatever you want, but by doing the healthy checks (water fruits veggies dairy) I can tell you I've changed the way I eat, even snacks 100 %.
I def think we should do check-ins.
And if we all do WW, we can do WW check ins and receipes and everything. WAHOOOOOOOOOO

I'm so happy for you Geo!!
You can count me in this summer to a point anyway. Good luck Rebek!!
Alright! It's on!
Pooks, you can't participate until September at the earliest.
Besides, you'll be posting about losing 10 lbs a week and we'll be jealous! (disclaimer: I totally PWed about my 1 and 2-month pp weight loss; of course it had nothing to do with anything I was doing, but I PWed anyway)
Well, then, I hope you're not in. Good luck next week!
Yes please! I feel like I run out of ideas what to eat after week 3.

I gained 40 with Riley, lost 25 in the first 2 weeks, then gained about 20 back in the following months :P In January I finally started trying to lose again. I am glad I waited because I've been having supply issues since, but she's nursing far less so it isn't AS much of an issue as it would have been before. I've lost 16 since mid-January and have 20 more to go to prepreg weight. I'm trying to take it slow because of the milk issues, but in a few months I hopefully won't have to worry about that!
