Help me plan what to do in San Fransisco- this weekend!
Hey girls,
If you don't recognize me, I am Melissa- I have been around forever, but never post here anymore, only on the baby board.
Anyways, DH and I are going away for the first time ever this weekenw without kids- ::insert squeal:: Friday- Monday in San Fransisco.
I am trying to map out my plans, but ther are so many things to do!
I would love any suggestions you have. Thanks!!
Re: Help me plan what to do in San Fransisco- this weekend!
A really good prime rib restaurant is House of Prime Rib, I mean its awesome and I didnt even like prime rib at the time.
Fishermans Wharf
Ghiradelli Square
Coit Tower
I liked Alcatraz. Their audio tour was excellent. The Spanish missions were nice too, but you probably need a car for that. Other than that I remember walking around looking at stuff and some good restaurants. I was there for a work meeting with a bunch of priests who were all at least 40 years older than me so my experience was probaby not that of the typical tourist
ETA-changed Sanish to SPanish!
If you and your DH like wine - you should definitley take a day and go to Napa Valley! My sister lives there and we did this last year. We used this guy (she uses him all the time, I can get his contact info if you'd like) who will drive you there and back and take you to whichever vineyards you'd like, so you don't have to worry about drinking too much ; ) We had a blast when we did this!
We also took the ferry over to Sausalito Island for an afternoon which was fun as well.
Have a blast!! I love San Fran!!
If you are looking for some WONDERFUL food- you have plenty of options, but DH and I love A16 food and wine- its not something you are going to experience anywhere else. You can usually find reservations on opentable... its wonderful. If you watch food network at all - Nate Appleman started it and now its being run by his friends.
We loved Alcatraz! The audio tour was fantastic. We did a sunset catamaran cruise which we also loved. You will have a great time no matter what you do, really. Some days we just walked (hiked!) from our hotel and stopped at places we saw along the way.
Have a fun! And report back on what you did!
