Had a great time at Meijer Gardens with my friend's daughter!
She LOVED the butterflies, and aunt windywindy didn't scar her for life or damage her in any way LOL.(Except when she saw the butterfly collection in the children's area. "They're all dead and nailed on!" Her mom assures me she won't have nightmares about it. Thanks for the tips, everyone. Her mom dropped her off around noon and we didn't get back until 5 PM. With the sun it was actually warm enough to run around the outside gardens too. Spoiled her with a sticker book and huge lollipop from the gift shop, then went out to Russ' (which is her favorite restaurant). Let her get dessert.

Very sweet!
Do you think a 2-year-old who is afraid stone lion statues and the deer/cattle heads on the wall at Longhorn would get freaked out by the dead & pinned butterflies?
We're supposed to go on Tuesday...

It is just along one wall of the children's building . . . so just avoid that and you should be OK :-) Distract her with the animal puppets.
Yay! Glad you had fun.
