Good news and bad news!
Good news: The lump I felt is no big deal. The doctor said he actually felt a lot of lumps and since I have a history of fibroadenomas (non-cancerous tumors) it's nothing to worry about unless it bothers me.
Bad news: I talked to him about possible re-doing my labs to evaluate whether or not I have PCOS. He said in reviewing my chart and going over my history/symptoms and that I have anywhere from 28-44 day cycles he is comfortable with that diagnosis and doesn't see a need to redraw the labs. Plus one of my sisters has diagnosed infertility and the other (identical twin) has been TTC for 11 months and has cycles/symtoms like mine. He did have labs done to look at my thyroid levels, which had indicated hypothyroidism in the past.
Combined with the fact that we stopped using birth control 8 months ago and have actually had pretty good timing and are still not pregnant, he said that he's okay with prescribing Clomid at this point.
I don't think I'm ready for that yet. Maybe that's stupid. Maybe I'll regret it later if it takes us forever to get pregnant. But I'm just not ready. DH says he's ready when I am. The doctor gave me his email address and said I can call/email him when we are ready to do Clomid, which I thought was nice. He really put me at ease.
It's not really a new diagnosis for me, I was told I had it before we got pregnant iwth Ryan. But actually hearing him say "secondary infertility" reeeeaally sucked.
I need a hug.
Re: Had my GYN appointment today
Hugs for you. Glad the doctor was very understanding and listened, it's nice to see when doctors actually do care.

about the PCOS, do you have darker spots in the under part of your thighs? that is a normal for PCOS but a lot of people dont know it.
HUGS
I thought your guys were not trying anymore.
As for the PCOS, you need to make sure you are charting to even know if you are ovulating and when. If you are not even ovulating then just having sex is doing you no good and you are wasting your time. You might be ovulating some of the time but without charting and with irregular cycles you could be missing your timing all together and not even knowing it. If I was not charting there is no way that I would have gotten pregnant.
