So I'm watching Tim Gunn's Guide to Style (which I need to turn off to write my research paper, but...)
Anyway, the person on right now said she wears more pants than skirts, so Tim asks her why that is. Her response, 'I don't like hose.'
Tim is shocked. 'You have to wear hose to work? This is the 21st century!'
There we go. We're good.
Thought you'd be pleased.
Re: ***hrparker***
Blatantly butting in...
does she work on the Hill? Because they have ridiculous dress code rules for female staff in some offices.
Also, do you watch stylista? I need to know whether its worth my precious post-ANTM time
Yes! Worst. Dresscode rule. Ever.
I paged hrparker, though, b/c she asked if it was okay to not wear hose to an interview on fashion & beauty. I said yes and that I never see women wearing hose around here (save maybe a few of the older secretaries), but we were combatted by a few of the traditionalists on the board who insisted hose was a must with a skirt.
Of course, being New Yorkers, we're ahead of the curve. And Tim Gunn agrees with us. Win for us (and everyone else who hates wearing hose).
I got in trouble with my mom in 8th grade for not wearing hose to church. ?She still wouldn't let me shave at that age, and I got the nasty thick hose that was more like beige tighs. ?No fun in FL heat. ?I finally rebelled. ?Ha, look at those hairy legs.
I don't think I've worn hose since. ?Ick.?
My mom tried to fight me on the hose thing in high school, but I think she gave up in hopes of convincing me to wear longer skirts and less revealing shirts.
I was scandalous. Although it backfired when I became known by a few people who didn't care for me as 'that girl who always wears boob shirts' in college.
Woohoo for being ahead of the curve.
Btw, I'm stopping by that lingerie place today. I'm bored, and need to get out of the house. ::fingers crossed:: that they tell me I've been correctly sized. I can't really afford all new underthings AGAIN this year...
Haha, good luck!!
