Re: BR: Moms, talk to me about your diaper bag
We wanted to get a gender-neutral bag (for my husband, not bc I have a son lol) and we ended up with this Eddie Bauer one from Target. And it sucks. It got ratty looking within 4 months, and the pull broke off three times (and I fixed it three times). Then I got a different one from Meijer that is brown with green, blue, and yellow stripes, but DH says it looks too much like a purse and still carries the old one when it's just him and Clark. I like the way everything is put together better in the second one.
My recommendation would be to go with one that has a single zipper on the top instead of a double zipper so the pull doesn't break, and to get one that doesn't have the nylon belt-type material for the strap because that's what started looking ratty the quickest. Honestly, any tote you like with some extra pockets (either on the inside or outside) would work just fine.

Vera is my friend! ?
I present to you the Vera Bradley Baby Bag in Symphony in Hue.
My mom got this for me for my birthday last year, so I really didnt do any shopping around.
I absolutely love it! It holds everything I need for Sami, and the front has enough space to hold my personal effects so I dont need an additional purse.

This! I've decided this would be mine sometime last year. I'm down to either Night and Day, Java Blue or Sittin' In A Tree. For me, it holds a ton (has a million pockets), is soft and washable and doesn't scream babies (not covered in Winnie the pooh).
I don't like mine. That's all you need to know.
ETA: I checked and the brand is Babyboom and its from Babies R Us. It really isn't THAT bad. It just has a floppy inner pocket that drives me nuts! I like it otherwise, because it has a lot of pockets and it is neutral so Floyd can carry it. I wouldn't recommend it though.

I couldn't tell you how any of these hold up of course but the reviews were decent.

I like the idea of a backpack so that I won't have to worry about keeping a bag on my shoulder while holding a baby (purses tend to fall off my shoulders easily).

I got a Maelee Diaper Bag. It looks like a purse and is huge. I actually have been carrying it around since January because I love it so much, although most of it is empty and I have no use for the diaper pad in it.
I got DH his own Diaper Dude Bag since mine is more purse-looking. It's the same one posted above:
