Things about you that annoy DH
It was really fun venting DH for a while, but we aren't perfect either, so what are some things that you do that annoys DH?
You can ask him or you can come up with things on your own.
"Nothing about me is annoying" is not a valid answer.
Re: Things about you that annoy DH
Kristen is annoying...according to DH
I'm sure there's more that I don't know about:
~I chew loudly. But only on certain foods. I've always had this problem where my tongue is too big for my mouth, so if I don't chew wide, I bite my tongue. Danny hates it. He says I chew like a horse.
~My hair is really long and thick and sheds like a golden retriever. So, in the shower, when hair falls out, I stick it on the wall until I'm done showering (so it doesn't clog the drain). Sometimes I forget to put it in the trash.
~I use the same phrases repeatedly. I'm trying to stop, but it's almost OCD. Danny's "favorites" are, "Can you do me a favor?", "I don't know how to say this without sounding stupid," "Can I ask you a question?" and "Seriously?!"
~ Leave my laptop in the middle of the floor....along with my shoes, my bag, etc. I do clean it up, just not on his timeline (which is immediately).
The top of my dresser being messy- messy means like, leaving 2 eye shadows and a brush out from getting ready in the am.
Also, he hates it when I haven't vacuumed recently. He likes carpet lines.
Stand up for something you believe in.
I end up returning alot of things that I buy online. When they're bigger items (like area rugs), Josh always has to haul them back to UPS. Oopsy! Pretty sure he hates that!
I come home and tell him every detail of my day....sometimes it's boring stuff and sometimes I'm venting. I'm pretty sure it's not all that interesting for him to hear.
Sometimes I complain about his mom to him.
I can be a backseat driver.
He'd probably also say that I'm too organized and I try to force him into being the same way:)
I talk about improvements I want to do around the house alot. He just looks at me wide-eyed:/
<a href="http://s65.photobucket.com/albums/h205/adia83/?action=view
I also do the water glass thing. Only I collect them all over the house. Same with pens. There are probably 20 pens in various places around the house because I HATE looking for pens.
My shoes. I come home, walk into our room, and kick off my shoes in front of our dresser. Apparently he never looks where he is going and is constantly tripping over my shoes. I've been known to have out like 4-5 pairs of shoes at a time. Usually in front of the dresser. But sometimes downstairs by the couch. Sometimes under the dining room table. He hates it. My dad used to get on me for it all the time too. I used to wake up in the morning and there were like 3 paris of shoes outside my bedroom door. I always tell Scott, I've always been this way, there's no changing me now!
I am incredibly undomesticated:
I hate cooking
Clean only for company
I Don't open wine bottles correctly
I have no clue how to properly set a table ( correct placement of utensils)
Thank God I'm quite entertaining and cute or he might get rid of me...
Oh yeah and I am a great Mom
I'm constantly trying to get him to eat vegetables.
I take my shoes off in the living room and leave them there.
I always ask him how many diapers Ellie went through, what she ate, what she did, how much she slept. He thinks I think he needs to be checked up on, but I really just want to know what my baby girl is up to.
I leave my magazines laying all over the house. He thinks magazine subscriptions are pointless but I love them.
Pretty sure his list is much longer than mine LOL
My Acme Box last update 3/28/11
-I often tell him I'm ready to leave and then take another 15+ minutes to actually get out the door. (Or I tell him I'm leaving somewhere and am on my way home, but then I'll take another hour to actually come home. I have this in common with Nooner's H.)
-Constantly rearrange the dishes he has put in the dishwasher until they're arranged to my liking
-Take FOREVER to make a decision on purchasing anything for the house. I drug him to the same three stores for three Saturdays in a row until we decided on baby furniture
-I don't cook or clean that much and he does tons of yardwork and fix-ups around the house, so it doesn't seem like a fair trade. He's very appreciative of when I DO cook and clean though
-Nag him to do certain things (make a phone call to someone, change a water filter, fix an air vent) but then procrastinate doing things I've said I'll do for weeks
I'm sure there's more! I'll have to ask him for a complete list.
Potentially a long list:
--He probably thinks I'm too neat. I just don't like clutter or crap lying around in open areas. He used to say our apt looked like no one lived there.
--I have difficulty coming out and saying when I am upset about something. Hate confrontation, what can I say? But he can tell I'm upset, so he'll ask me what's bothering me and I say "nothing" and then after like 5 minutes, I finally get the balls to tell him why I'm upset. I know it's stupid, cause we both know I'm gonna tell him eventually. I'm working on it tho.
--I change my mind, or rather try to offer alternatives. Like, what are we having for dinner? I'll suggest "chicken" and he says "fine" and then I think of what else is in the freezer and say "or we could have salmon" and he gets annoyed and can't seem to consider more than one possibility. His big mantra is "choice does not equal happiness." I don't know, sometimes it does!
--Pretty sure he loathes the TV shows I watch (we have a few in common), like American Idol, the Kardashians, E! News, and he really really hates House Hunters. We only have one TV tho, so we're SOOL. Oh well.
- I leave glasses of water all over the house. Sometimes multiples. It's ridiculous. I don't know why I do this.
- I consistently do things like grab one fork for myself and walk away. Or get myself a drink and not ask if he wants anything. He ALWAYS asks me.
- I'm a TERRIBLE backseat driver. I generally just hate being in the car, it's not him particularly, but since I'm in the car with him the most it probably feels like I hate his driving.
I'm sure these are just a few, I accept that I have many annoying traits...I blame it on being an only child
like sarges, i shed like crazy. sometimes i leave a little ball in the shower so it doesnt go down the drain too. but mostly he hates finding my hair all over the house, or on his clothes, or the sheets, or in his truck...or pretty much anywhere.
when i open mail, i put it back into the envelope. sometimes i file empty envelopes. sometimes i dont even open something if i know what it is, i just file it.
i dont park straight.
Exactly these. To add to them, I cry pretty much every time we have a "fight." I know that's stupid. I'm a total crybaby. Also, he has a "rule" (eye roll) that I can't DVR 2 things at once, because then we can't watch anything else. DWTS and the finale of Pretty Little Liars are equally important!!!
Like Rach, I also talk about home-improvement projects, and he always looks scared.
he's never come out and said anything, but I think these are his pet peeves about me:
I have no concept of time whatsoever, and because of it, I'm running late a lot. Part of it used to be related to work, labwork doesn't always go according to plan and you can't just leave it if you're supposed to leave at a certain time, but now that I'm out of work and don't have a good reason for running late, I think it's annoying him more.
I shed terribly. It's not my fault, it's my anemia, but it's still all my hair in the drain that I don't clean out. I always used to wait until the next day to clean it out, but he showers after me so that's not working for him.
I have a lot of stuff. And then I buy more stuff. Clutter and unnecessary expenses, two huge strikes!
I eat eggs every day. His hatred of eggs is such that he usually can't be in the room when I'm cooking breakfast.
I'm very fussy with how I do certain things, like when and in what order, and when it affects him I think he gets annoyed.
I'm a terrible backseat driver, but only with him. He has weird habits when driving that end up with him stuck in the wrong lane and missing a turn. Also, he drives very jerkily when he drives my car and it drives me nuts- but I think that's because he's used to a standard and driving an automatic is different. Hmm maybe this should have been in the "what annoys me about DH" thread.prolly everything....
