    They aren't hard to make - the hardest part was the felting process in my front loading washing machine. I made the cream pair in my own washer and that took 2 cycles...i made the green & blue pair in my parents top loader washer and that took 7 minutes. i'll be making a couple large batches and taking them to my parents. Big Smile

    basically you knit a garment - in this case slippers. they are knit fairly loosely and several sizes larger than you want them to be. the felting part occurs when you put them in the hot cycle in the washer. the combination of hot water + agitation shrinks the garment and essentially bonds all the fibers together...i'm still not explaining well, so here's a good article. :) felted material is also known as boiled wool.
