I decided (or actually dh told me) not to register for a diaper bag, aside from the backpack style one he wanted so I can get something I really like. I just didn't care much for what was at our registry locations.
Can you suggest a site/store for a diaper bag. I am thinking simple big is fine easy to keep clean but doesn't scream "I am holding bottles and diapers". Sorry that may sound bad but oh well.
I thought of going with some designer ones once dh gave me the go ahead to find something I like but I just can't justify a price tag over say $200.
ETA I hope this doesn't come off like I am trying to use the board as my google, I have looked but feel like maybe I am not looking on any decent sites.
Re: Moms, Moms to be - diaper bags
Coach, Kate Spade, http://nestdiaperbags.com/
ETA: Petunia Pickle Bottom gets mentioned a lot too

I'm happy with my Coach and I plan to use it as a traveling bag when we're done with diaper bag needs.
I also have a Very Bradley but they kinda scream "I'm holding bottles and diapers" I gave the one we were given to my mom and she uses it. You can certainly stuff those suckers though.
My friend has a Kate Spade and she likes it a lot.
Ditto Shaina, Petunia Pickle Bottom is very popular.
Thanks, I know I have read a ton of them but really never commited them to memory. I realy thought I would find something I like to put on the registry.
Skip hop is another one

Yeah, I didn't register for mine b/c I knew I wanted an expensive one that I would be keeping :P.
We did put Nick's on the registry, just this little, plain, black Eddie Bauer one.
Oh yes! I was thisclose to picking a Skip Hop one.
Here's a F&B thread with a few suggestions. I thought we did one on MM, but I can't find it and google isn't playing nice, lol!

Yeah, I agree to a point - I think it just depends. I'm a bag junky and pretty neurotic about my bags so I knew I would get one but was happy to get the Vera with the wipeable vinyl too in case I wanted to use something like that sometimes. (and who am I kidding, I would have gotten 4 diaper bags if I could).
Don't worry - I've found I'm starting to carry less now! Its pretty nice!
I am by no means someone who buys a lot of bags (jackets and coats are my thing) but I really, really like a long lasting good quality bag that I will use for a while so I don't mind a small splurge here and there.
i have this one:

i do love it however, i hate carrying any kind of bag/purse around. for those purposes, i got the little matching clutch that holds just a few diaper and wipes. i rarely carry my diaper bag around unless i'm going to be somewhere for awhile and need a bunch of stuff. most of the time i leave it in the car and just run out there to change her or something.

I am not a bag person. We have a simple shoulder bag by Columbia that Thom isn't embarrassed to use, but honestly it's just too big. I've been eyeing this small carrier that holds wipes, dipes, and a changing pad so I can just put it in my purse. It's either that or I put my purse essentials in a little bag that goes from purse to diaper bag.
If I were to do it over again, I'd buy that little carrier and a nice, but big, purse for myself. If you're nursing, you don't need to carry a bottle (but probably want to carry a cover, which takes up less room); and maybe a change of clothes.
unless you're me of course who has BF anxiety and ALWAYS brings a bottle just in case. LOL
