son of a beach

its tuesday morning.  only tuesday.  and only 8:13.

made a DELICIOUS low fat dinner last night, new favorite, gerren liked it too (not as much as me!), watched some tv, hit the hay.

entertain me, ladies.

Re: son of a beach

  • FML. I get to work today and notice that my chair seems cold on one side. I quickly realize its because there is now a 4 inch long tear right on my ass in my new(er) jeans. I think I'm more pissed that the jeans were pretty new and theres no way to repair them because its so obvious.

So luckily, H is at home. I call him and bribe him with his favorite food to bring me another pair of jeans. 10 minutes later he calls me back and says "I left the GPS on in my car, my battery is dead." Double FML!

Now my ass is hanging out, I have a sweater wrapped around me all 90's style and I need to go beg one of the warehouse guys to answer the phone while I run to Target to buy a new pair of jeans.

This is what I thought this morning! Ugghh..

My phone is working. I lost everything but at least it is working. I am so excited my friend and I are going to see Jersey Boys next week:) I use to go with my mom all the time to musicals so I haven't been in a while because there is no way in H ell that I would be able to get Greg to go. I can't get him to go to the movies.

  • LTB- that sucks. Hope your day gets better after some new jeans!

I know this week is going to dddrrraaaggg because spring break is next week but good grief, it's only Tuesday?! Good news is Jeremy will be here all week. Bad news is he now has to commute, two hours each way, til Thursday to help out. He was not a happy camper last night.

After the late meeting last night, got home and told Jeremy he was in charge of supper. His response: "I don't know how to cook." My response: "Well, figure something out because I'm not." We ate a Red Robin. Then home to watch "Secret Life" and "Make It or Break It".

I should give him credit because he was doing laundry last night and folded the clothes and put them away while I didn't miss a minute of the show. I blame most of that on his medicine and his inability to sit still but he still rocked last night.

Two meetings today and a sh!tload of paperwork and I just want to go home and sleep.

  • I made the mistake of checking my work email at home this morning at 7AM. I JUST finished taking care of all of the crap marked "urgent" in my inbox. So I'm still on my couch, in my PJs. I emailed my supervisor and she replied to me with "Yeah, that happens sometimes."

Played some soccer last night. It's amazing what a difference a week of 30 Day Shred made in my endurance. Also amazing: a couple of the soccer moves that I somehow pulled from my high school days. It was like my feet moved all by themselves.

And after playing soccer, H and I had Boston Market for dinner. I love me some Boston Market.

Anyway, I should probably get going and get dressed and do my hair/make up. Today is going to be a loooong day, I can tell. Mostly because of the 4PM meeting I have. Le sigh.

  • Ugh, only Tuesday is right.  I feel like I've been living for the weekends even more than usual lately.

Last night H and I went out grocery shopping because we had no food in the house after being away all last weekend.  I'm excited to make my pastaless eggplant parmesean dish tonight - it's filling, satisfying, but elliminates all the pasta carbs!

When we got back, we worked out and just vegged in front of the t.v. for the rest of the night.  Kinda boring.

  • Ugh, so I've returned from target $100 poorer. What is it about that damn store that makes you spend more money? Not only did I get the absolute LAST PAIR of jeans in my size, I ended up with the nailpolish I've been looking for forever, razor cartridges, shampoo and a new pad for the nifty mop we have.

Are we sure its really Tuesday? I'm feeling like its Monday.

Yeah, I have that problem with Target, too. "I only need to get X." And I end up coming home with T, U, V, W, Y and Z, too.

I'm in a good mood now because "Mmm Bop" was on the new 90's station on my ride into work. I was definitely rocking out in my car.

  • Yeah.  One summer, I was at Target almost every week.  I made a game out of trying to get as close to $100 without going over.  I think I came within $.07 once.

I'm so exhausted.  DH didn't come to bed til last night, and decided to curl up with me.  I had JUST fallen asleep and he woke me up.  Then as soon as his alarm goes off this morning, he starts checking his email.  And gets all pissed off because 2 of our 3 tax returns won't go thru.  Because of the mistake SS made with my name.  Luckily, I filed that paperwork yesterday morning - but of course, it'll take 2 weeks.  And the 2 that won't go through are the two that owe us money.  Lovely.

  • I really think Target needs to put a sign on their door saying 'If you're not planning on spending $100, just come back once you are.'

Agree, I think when I went to Target to get Thank You cards for one of my showers, I walked out spending over $100. This is why I don't go to that store often. It always happens like that.

  • i love target, or i should say "loved" because they have been outed as giving a lot of their proceeds to political candidates that are openly opposed to gay marriage.  i will likely still shop there occasionally (1 time every 2 years maybe?) but i really have a hard time supporting a company that is openly opposed to gay marriage.  they are also ranked by some studies as the WORST company to support if you are pro-gay marriage.

oohhh, I did not know this. I may be also changing my opinion of this store.

  • I read about that Shauni. I'm not really okay with supporting a company that does that either. Unfortunately they just got in the entire line of Essie nail polish and I can't find anywhere else that carries it other than online. So I may need to make exceptions for that. =)
  • For some reason this got me to thinking of the 30 Rock episode where Liz Lemon gets the jeans that make her butt look awesome from a store that she thinks is a local, organic boutique or something and then finds out they're some sort of subsidiary of a giant corporation that clubs porpoises or something.

haha right?  i know, every company has its pros and its cons, and thats why it is worth doing your own research to A) not just shop somewhere that everyone says is "this" (liberal?) or "that (ecofriendly?)" and B)once you do the research you can decide is it more important to you to support a company that supports gay rights but is also opposed to saving the environment or whatever.  or whether gay rights are more (or less!) important than saving money, etc. i just think it is worth doing your homework and not just shopping somewhere because they sell fun stuff or because everyone else says you shoul (or shouldnt) shop there.

but back to liz lemon, when gerren and i watched that episode, gerren kept laughing at me, bc in HS i ALWAYS shopped like that..."i cant shop at wal mart!  only small local places that sell jeans like THIS or like THAT" and it turned out they were all huge corporations owning these smaller places, haha

  • I love target and can never get out of there spending less than 100 dollars!!

I woke up at 6am to met my dad at the ford dealership at 7 to get a recall fixed on his truck. I pull in the dealership at exactly 7 and call him and say are you here yet, and he is just leaving his house. So he wound up getting to the dealership at 8. ugghhhh I could have slept for another hour. On a normal day I get up at 8 by the way!

I am so anxious for my new glasses to come in. I ordered a pair of regular prescription eye glasses and a pair of prescription Burberry sunglasses last week, they said at the lastest they will be here by April 3rd, but it could be sooner. I want my new glasses!! And I am oddly excited about my new drivers license coming in, I want to see my new last name on it so bad. That could take up to a month to get here.

  • Tuesday sucks, same as every week.

I am eating a chocolate chip muffin and (sorry) laughing at LTB with a ripped arse and a sweater tied 90s style.

I had major dramz on the facespace yesterday. Two adult men over the age of 35 created a page to mimic me, which could have been funny but instead was extremely mean spirited. Really? I unleashed my wrath on them, defriended them, told people who did it, and they lost a ton of other friends too. Don't F with me, losers. So sorry your lives are so sad and boring you have to spend your time obsessing about mine. By 6 p.m. the page was down and both me and MFD received grovelling phone calls and emails. Too late, take care now, and go F yourself.

Other than that, we watched TV last night and crapped around. MFD did not want to watch Swamp People, which is my newest obsession, so eventually I went upstairs and finished my book and started another one.

  • Oh, stephanie that is awful! it really boggles my mind about adults sometimes. Haven't we all left HS a long time ago??  I'm glad you told them where to go.

On the other hand. We LOVE Swamp People. That show is great!

  • Steph would be so proud of me.  Last night I did the dishes, cleaned the kitchen, cleaned the bathroom, and put away laundry.  I also did 30 minutes on my treadmill woo hoo.

LTB sorry about your bad morning.

I still <3 Target.  They always have great prices and great stuff.  I'd rather shop at Target than WalMart (except for groceries).

  • steph, glad you took action!  those guys are nutso.
  • I love a good joke, even at my expense, and if the page did what their original intention was (to "be" someone riding next to me on the train), it would've been hilarious! But when they didn't get attention from me or others, they instead started mimicking everything I said in quite a mean manner. There were only 10 people on the page at the high point, who friended them because they thought it would be the funny thing, but then got out asap when it turned mean except for two of my friends I asked to stay on yesterday so I could see it through them. Silly people should know me by now - I have zero problem putting people on full blast, I do not mince words and I do not qive quarter where none is deserved.

In non-loser news, I just ordered my Nike comfort flops for the summer, I'm heading to American Signature Furniture tonight to raise hell about my less than two years old ripped couch they refuse to fix under their sham warranty, and I heard about a cheap Phillies hoodie I'll swoop in and buy along the way. Hollerrrrr.

I cannot go to the gym today, I totally wrenched my back and the air is knocked out of me when I move a certain way.

I literally just said this to J word for word when leaving Target this past Saturday. We went in for 1 or 2 things and left with 12.. and $110 poorer.

  • I was super proud to leave Target on Sunday spending only $35.

Granted, I went in only for sandwich bags, which cost $2.19, and avoided shoes/clothes/socks/underwear entirely, but hey! I felt good.
