teachers questions about PD

Has anyone attended any Professional Development from "Staff Development for Educators"?  I was thinking about attending some PD and wanted to know if it would be worth it.

Re: teachers questions about PD

  • I don't think I've gone to any of their PD but have you looked for something more local? IME, national companies like this don't always have the best PD.

I teach Science, though, which is very state-specific. YMMV if it's for a subject that is more general, like reading or math. Still, I prefer to do PD through our region service center, the county department of ed, and collaboratives. They tend to be the highest quality and most relevant. JMO, though.

  • I've been to several.  They are hit or miss.  I've found that the reading ones are more helpful and informative.  I teach elementary so I don't know anything about middle or high school seminars.
