anyone been to the poconos?

I'm thinking of booking a little weekend away for  DH and I...and I was considering these resorts...

thoughts? anyone been?

  • I went for a long weekend once when I lived in MD.  Meh, it is kind of corny (even the nicer resorts) and there isn't much to do in the area, IMO (unless you are into hiking and stuff).

    I also thought it was a bit overpriced.

  • I've heard the same as Angela.

    Ther eis the Great Wolf Lodge if you are looking for kid-friendly, but I've heard it is pricey for what you get.

    It's the home of the martini glass hot tub!

    I'm surprising DH with a weekend in the Poconos for his 30th, but I'm renting a house for the NASCAR race and inviting all his idiot friends.  It'll be fun, but probably not the romantic getaway you were looking for...
