Help! How do I get a coffee stain out of carpet?

I spilled my coffee all over the living room carpet the other day.  I immediately blotted it up and treated it with Resolve carpet cleaner, but it still left a brown stain in my carpet.  Our house is going on the market this week so I have to get it up soon!  I did a Google search and tried a few things I found - hydrogen peroxide, dish soap and water, baking soda and water -  but nothing is working.  I also tried making a paste with OxyClean, but that didn't work either.  Any ideas?

  • Try Nature's Miracle. It's a natural enzyme cleaner that's marketed to remove pet stains, but I use it for everything. It even removes blood stains. You can find it at most pet stores.
  • We use Spot Shot to get stains to  out of carpet.  Never used it on coffee, but it works on the spots were my cat has thrown up that I don't see right away (like in the guest room).  Good Luck

Same here. I've never used it on coffee, but it's worked for other things like chocolate.

  • Try using really hot water.  Heat it up on the stove, and then pour a little on the spot, and then blot it up with a few rags (I say a few because it's HOT and will burn if you only use one rag!)  If you're going to be cleaning a big area, you might pour the hot water on and then vaccuum it with a shopvac.  You're basically washing the carpet...  Anyway, this works really well on my nearly-white carpet.  GL!
