piece of my mind vs peace of mind (random and pointless)

This has bothered me this weekend.  I have read several threads on various boards that the poster was asking a question to get "piece of mind".  I have wanted to respond but figured why bother.

All intents and purposes (all intensive purposes) is another one that bugs me.

Do you have any?

Re: piece of my mind vs peace of mind (random and pointless)

  • "Piece of mind" drives me nuts, too.

("All intents and purposes" is actually the correct phrase.)

The other ones that really bother me are "supposively" and "could of/would of."

Oh, or when someone says, "I usually always do....".  You either usually do it, or you always do it.  Not both.

  • ohh those are good ones.

My sister pointed out intents and purposes to me a few years ago and now when people say it in conversations I want to say something.

  • "I seen it"

No, you didn't "seen" it; you "saw" it!!!!

I deal with this kind of stuff all day long.  After while, I don't even hear some of the mistakes anymore.

  • "I seen it"

NO...you "saw" it, not "seen" it
