Did any of you have random bleeding or spotting late in 1st tri/early 2nd tri? Out of no where I felt "something". Thinking I was , ummm, leaking I grabbed a liner and headed to the ladies room. Well, the plus side is that I didn't pee myself but the down side is that it was blood...not just when I wiped but also trickled out when I went to the bathroom. Anyone experiance something similar? I called my ob and since I had an u/s yesterday, they don't want to bring me back in today for another one. They want me to rest and wait to see if/when it stops. I'm not gonna lie, I'm freaking out right now

I actually don't see them until the end of the month, not tomorrow. I wish it was tomorrow.

I'm sorry. I can totally understand why you are concerned. I haven't had any bleeding, but my friend did when she was pregnant and it ended up being nothing to worry about at all.

Ahh ok - I read it wrong. My apologies. So then I would monitor it. If it doesnt stop or appears to get worse overnight or into the morning, I would call asap.

did it hurt when you went to the bathroom?
my thinking is maybe it isnt BR at all. maybe you did have a little leaking and the blood was from your urine (indicative of a UTI or bladder infection) and not actually from your vagina.
i know that things such as kidney stones, appendicitis (sp?) and gall bladder infections can increase with pregnancy due to hormones...i dont know if bleeding in the urine can occur as a result of those.
I had bleeding about that time, freaked out and called the doc- they had me in immediately for a check, turned out to be nothing... I would call and see what they say. I had my cervix checked yesterday and bled most of the day. I was freaking out... turns out that is what happens when they check up there ....
I had some bleeding when I would wipe after going pee at 6wks, 10wks, and again at 14wks. It was only when I wiped and never lasted long at all. The last 2 times it was bright red too which totally freaked me out. Neither time was after an internal or after sex either. I called my doc at the 6wk incident and she offered an u/s earlier than the 7wk dating u/s but the bleeding went away. At 10 wks she told me to keep an eye on it (I had cramping too) and by that evening it was gone. The last tim eit happened, I was sent for an u/s because I had more cramping and bleeding (they were concerned that the placenta was pulling away from the uterine wall but IT WASNT!) and my doc just said it might be something that just happens.
If you look at that timing, it could very well have been some break through bleeding like when you take BCPs continuously or have whacky periods. Each time the baby was fine and the last 2 times we heard the HB. It sure as hell is scary though especially when its your first or if you've had a loss before.
It always made me feel better to either see that the baby was fine or to hear the HB so if that's what it takes, then let your doc know you're super concerned. At the very least, you could go in quick, have her take a look at your cervix (which I'm going to guess is closed and locked up like a bank safe) and have a listen for the HB.
HUGS to you Mo. I'll bet you're doing just fine though. xoxo
Just relax, keep off your feet, and if it doesn't go away, call your doctor back.
My SIL had some heavy bleeding around 16 weeks and it turned out to be nothing. She now has a healthy baby boy! The best thing you can do it to relax and lay down. If you feel like something is wrong, definitely make an appointment with a doctor or go to the ER. In the meantime, can you call a nurse line or something to get advice? Through my insurance with Health America, they offer a free nurse line 24 hours a day and I find it extremely helpful.
Keep us posted, Mrs. Mo.*hugs*
I haven't bled this pregnancy either, but early on, around 7 - 12 weeks, I was told I had a subchorionic hematoma. (It's a small tear in your placenta that forms a blood clot.) While these can be very bad in some cases, usually they go away as mine did, but I was told I might see some bright red blood from it. Granted, if you had an SCH, you probably would've been told by now after having your ultrasounds done.
If you have any cramping with the bleeding, I'd call the doctor right away. If you're not cramping, try to relax a bit, as hard as that is. If you don't see any more blood tomorrow, you're probably just fine. If it continues or gets heavier though, don't hesitate to get it checked out.
I'll be thinking of you!
Ha ! It's been over a month.

Can you have a UTI and it not hurt/burn when you pee? Well, I was just put on antibiotics last night for an upper respitory infection so if it is some sort of infection related, hopefully this stuff will take care of it as well. I decided to work from home today so that I can completely stay off my feet.

Absolutely. Asymptomatic UTIs aren't uncommon in pregnancy. I've had UTI's in the past and they were horrrrrrrible, but I had one around my 8th week of pregnancy and had no idea! It was caused by Group B strep. They gave me ampicillin for it; I had to take 3 pills a day (on an empty stomach no less -- tough when I needed to eat all the time to avoid nausea). It cleared the UTI up, but I've been tested for them several other times this pregnancy since it's easy to have one and not know it.
