i forgot to tell you all about our exciting new purchase!
we just got a california king bed!
we pick it up on sunday. im so excited.
HOWEVER, now we need to buy: a new headboard/bedframe in general, sheets, new nightside tables for TWO rooms (the guestroom right now has a double bed with a headboard that has shelves on it and doubles as the night side tables. now that we are putting our old queen in there a beautiful headboard from our room, we need to get night side tables for in there. we also dont have matching ones for our bedroom which drives me craYzee!)
but it will be so nice not to be fighting for space in our bed! we both hate touching when we are sleeping. my mom joked that we will need to text each other from our sides of the bed since we will be so far apart
Re: oh yeah
Wheeeeeeeeeeeee! A new bed is super awesome. I cannot wait to get a king bed. Me, MFD and two pugs does not compute. Our room is small for a king so I'll probably wait until we move.
True fact: I hate head and foot boards and have not had them since I moved out of my parents' house for college.
really?? why?? i HATE not having a real bed without at least a head board, i feel like im not an adult without one! (yes, i am a freak.)

I prefer my bed to be positioned directly in front of the windows - I keep my window cracked most of the year and adjust it throughout the night, and I like waking up to the sun on my face - so it really doesn't work with a headboard. Plus I just don't see the point. Just another thing to buy and then another thing to clean and eventually another thing to move.
I do adore fabric headboards with grommets around the outside, but can't get past my window issue.
I am not a matchy matchy furniture girl. I do like the side tables in a bedroom to match, but I don't need them matching everything else. I like to mix it up and hunt down pieces I really like.
Shauni in my two spare bedrooms since I didn't want to shell out the cashish at the time I put in those cheapo tables with the flat round top and three legs that screw in. I spray painted them the colors I wanted and covered with a varnish. They add a bit of whimsy to both rooms. I will evenutally replace them but all they hold now are lamps and a coaster.
This! Except I thought we would use our wedding money, but we ended up doing other things with it.
GREAT idea! now, where to find those tables...walmart you think?

I don't have a headboard either. H has one that matches the rest of the bedroom set but a part of it broke when we moved so we decided we were too lazy to fix it and put it up.
We need a king sized bed too. Ironically its not because of Tom. He tends to stay to his side of the bed, but because of my 15 lb. cat who has decided that her usual place at the end of the bed is no longer acceptable and now must slam her fat ass into my stomach or back repeatedly until I scoot over and she takes up 1/2 of my 1/2 of the bed! Then the fuzzy beotch kicks me the rest of the night.

Wal-Mart has them, Michael's or another craft store might have them too. But you can't put a lot of heavy stuff on it or else it could tip (at least mine do).
H and I upgraded from a full to a queen in September and got a killer deal at JCPenney....love the new bed.

We said this too, and by the end of the honeymoon that was out the window!! LOL
I'm 100% with you on this one. It was nice not to have one in college because I moved my furniture around every other week or so, but ever since H and I moved into a "real" apartment, we've had a headboard. However, I DO hate foot boards.
