s/o accountability poll - boob jobs

I'll leave this an anonymous poll, but feel free to elaborate if you wish! [Poll]

Re: s/o accountability poll - boob jobs

  • Good to know at least 3 people on this board think the boob job I'm considering is offensive & tacky.

  • I did put in a special snowflake, but maybe there were too many poll possibilities and it was cut out?

I'd vote no, I wouldn't. It's partially cost, but mostly because surgery is scary, not something I'd do elective, and implants can have side effects that scare me. Plus I'd be afraid they'd look unnatural, but I'm sure these days the Doctor can make them look really natural, it's not something I've ever looked into.

Those are the biggest reasons why I probably wouldn't.

Don't get me started on any procedure that involves drains Ick!

Haha. I was thinking that when I saw the results. I'm the "we'll see after kids" response. Right now, no...I wouldn't. Mostly beacuse I'm afraid I'll feel weird with them. I think they can definitely be done tastefully though. I'm somewhat open to it. Once what little I have is no longer perky and sags I might want one. We'll see.

They can look really natural now. My friend that just had hers done didn't go crazy with size. She has lost alot of weight which had resulted in her boobs looking flat at the top. Basically she just filled them out so she would feel more confident in a bathing suit and tank top.

I am scared of the surgery too. If I can get down to my goal size after the baby and stay that way for awhile I would consider it.

  • I fully intend on getting a boob job, but only want a reduction/lift, not implants by any means! I've always had bigger boobs than I like, which meant gravity was my enemy much earlier than it should've been. With that and the swelling that comes with pregnancy, I'm all about getting some help.

  • I'm in the "we'll see after kids" group. At this very moment in life I wouldn't do it. After losing weight and having kids and possibly losing weight again I might revisit the idea.

  • There wasn't an option for "No, I don't think I need one", so I chose "No, but I'd get something else done".

I seriously am reconsidering my need for a nose job.  I tried to take pictures of my new haircut with my phone yesterday to post on Facebook, but my honker looked huge from every angle I attempted :(

I'm totally not just going to gut react and say NO, that's not true. So I went to your FB page and looked at some photos of you. Now I can honestly say NO! That's not true! Your nose looks completely normal to me.

I did the exact same thing (looking at Pookie's FB pics) and feel the same way!

I would love to get a lift, even now. I've already got plenty in the size department and they're pretty perky considering but it would still be nice if they stayed up a little better/higher on their own. I want to BF so I'm waiting until after we have kids. I may consider some additional size in addition but I doubt it.

    Edited for clarity.

  • I would have to be intensely unhappy with how they looked to go through that. I already had one surgery I didn't want, much less another one for aesthetics. But, if I were miserable and couldn't stand it, I might do it.
  • I think my breasts are one of my best features right now, but who knows how I will feel after children and breastfeeding. I'm not going to say I never would get one but like DP said, I would have to be intensely unhappy and financially comfortable to risk it.

  • Add me to DH and I have talked about it. I was very close to doing it in 2009. Until I found out breast feeding after a reduction is difficult and sometimes impossible. BFing is very important to me, but you can count on me signing the dotted line after our last child is weaned. I have always been busty (36dd prepregnancy) and while BFing 38G. If your considering BFing, WAIT and get the work after.

Dit to the oh.  Minus the pregnancy part, but I'm sure that will come.

I'm saying right now that after I have a kid(s) and am done BFing AND into my thirties by the time that happens, mine will be like oranges in tube sock.  Trust.

  • Special Snowflake - I don't find them tacky , and the surgery doesn't scare me, I just never really considered getting one. I struggled with insecurity over my boob size in high school and college (I never got over an A until I started prenatal vitamins before my wedding), and I've gotten to the point where I am happy with them.

  • Right now, NO.  DH thinks it's really gross but if I had to get a breast removed i'd consider it.
  • I never really thought about it 'til after being pregnant and breastfeeding, but B (and mastitis/MRSA) did a number on my boobs and we plan to get them fixed after I'm finished nursing #2.

I'm afraid of the same thing. Yesterday I was talking to a lady in the gym locker room and she said she read that you sag 1/2 inch for every 10 lbs you lose. I don't know if this is true but if I lose the 70lbs I want to lose they'll be at my belly button!

  • Im a special snowflake.  I dont think they're tacky when done tastefully and I dont think I would get one after I have a kid.  They're just NMS and my lopsided boobs are fine with me.

I'm sorry but that's completely untrue! I was a 38D/DD depending on the bra when I was 250lbs. When I was down to 165 and 36C, they were much perkier and didn't sag at all. Now they're watermelons, but no, losing weight doesn't mean they WILL sag, it had the opposite effect on me.
