QOTD- Always a bride never a bridesmaid
Have you ever been a bridesmaid? If you have, who was the bride? Did you love or hate your dress? Overall experience?
I never have, and I don't think I ever will

Re: QOTD- Always a bride never a bridesmaid
Never have and I secretly hope I never will!
I WAS a flower girl once. I wore this awful magenta dress with a hoop skirt and about a million yards of tulle. I was like 5 or 6 and when they were taking pictures in this garden, I ran away and ripped out the hoop skirt and the tulle. My mother and the bride were PISSED.
The Princess of Anything is Coming!
Had a dream I was queen.
Woke up. Still queen.
i was the main of honor for one wedding HOWEVER, after buying the worlds ugliest dress (brown, floor length HUGE ball gown with a candy pink sash) for $250, the wedding was cancelled bc the couple eloped.
over the next two summers though i am in 4 weddings.
Blog
QOA- that made me laugh so hard!
Shauni- Wow, 4? You are going to be busy.
I would rock as a MOH.
I was a Jr Bm for my aunts wedding. It was in the early 90's, teal afwul. I was a Bm for my cousins wedding the dress was ok, it was actual the style of one of my prom dresses. The last time was my friends wedding cute halter top dress from DB, one that you could wear again but probably never will (kind of how I picked my girls dresses)
However, most of my BM's are yet to be engaged (I know I know weddings are not tit for tat) but I have been friends with these girls most of my life so I would assume I will be in theirs. So I potential have about 4 more. Great..
I've been a flower girl twice as well as a junior bridesmaid, and I've been a bridesmaid seven times. Four of my best friends are not married yet, neither are my two brothers, so I'm sure I'm not nearly done.
I have only looked good in two of the dresses I've worn, but neither of those was comfortable either, so overall not a comfortable experience dress-wise, ever.
Edited to add that's why I let my BMs pick their own dresses.
I've been a BM twice. Once for my sister and then another time for a HS friend. (I still say the only reason I was in her wedding was bc my bf at the time was the best man. And we had broken up by the time her wedding rolled around. ha)
I was asked to be in another friend's wedding BUT it was the day after my birthday and we had tickets to go to a football game. I picked the football game. Again, we had lost touch and later found out she was asking everyone to "fill" that spot so I didn't feel too terrible after that.
I'll be in two this year and that should be it. All sister's and friends will be married and I'm not in FSIL's wedding so yay.
Funny story about friend's wedding I was in and ex was the Best Man...the friend and her husband are now divorced but ex and her are now dating.
Yeah I was a MOH. It was...expensive. Remember my posts forever ago about the friend who needed to STFU? It was her.
It started with a $120 BM dress (not bad) that the shop ordered in the wrong size, then reordered and got to me 1 week before the wedding. Last minute alterations, $150.
Then there was the bridal shower which I helped pay for, along with a $100 digital camera as a gift. Then the bachelorette party which I was told I was paying for, $300 later. Then she also decided to have all of this happen within weeks of her daughter (my goddaughters) birthday where I spent another $50 or so on gifts. Oh, and then I played chauffeur for 2-3 days before the wedding, so lets add another $60 or so in gas.
And I missed 2 days of work for it. I really, really wish I had known about TK at that time. There's no way in hell I would have spent so much money that I didn't have if I had actually known that it isn't "all about the bride" and its "okay to say no." Damn naivety.
ETA: Its possible I'll be an MOH or BM if one of my friends who is engaged decides on an actual wedding. They don't know if they want to elope or not. But she's not BSC so hopefully all will go well.

I was a jr bridesmaid in my uncle's wedding ages ago.
Two years ago, I was a bridesmaid in DH's cousin's wedding. I put a lot of money into it and was kind of happy she was including me. Then at the bachelorette party I wasn't allowed to take part in certain discussions if it would include DH cause they didn't want to hear about their cousin's sex life. And our escort card read "Nelson & guest". I was IN THE BRIDAL PARTY and you couldn't put my name on the card?!?! I still judge her for that.
And this summer I will be in my MOH's wedding. I'm kind of hurt I'm not her MOH, but then again, I can't be sure she HAS a MOH. We're getting infinity/convertible dresses - so I'm actually looking forward to it. If the one girl in charge ever gets around to ordering them (etsy seller).
Totally judgeable.
I was MOH in 3 weddings in 12 months. It cost a fortune, but I did get to reuse the dress from #2 in #3's wedding. No longer speak to bride #1. Bride #2's marriage lasted less than 2 years. Bride #3 is my BFF and was BM in my wedding. The only other one I expect (fingers-crossed) to be in is my sister's. But she's a crazy control freak so that'll be an interesting experience.
I was a BM for a good friend at the time I didn?t hate the dress but it was a definitely a BM dress, wouldn?t really be able to wear it again, unless you dyed and/or shortened it. It was really flowy w/ taffeta in aqua. She didn?t really have any ?tasks? for us BMs just show up.
I hope I can be a BM when my other ladies get married!
This is ridiculous! I would be so pissed.
I was MOH twice - for my sister (dress was cute, but could only be worn as a bridesmaid dress), and my BF. For my BF, I was the only BM and she had me wear an adorable linen dress from Banana Republic. I wear it all the time.
I'm in wedding coming up this september and so far it's been great.
I've also been asked to be BM for two other weddings that I couldn't make (overseas).
It's a fun job, but sometimes the politics make it difficult. I had one friend who I was disappointed didn't ask me at first, but I quickly realized I was better off just being a guest.
