I love your 3-day blog! Reading it has put a huge smile on my face and has made me think about walking. I don't actually know anyone personally who has had breast cancer (I know, I am super super lucky), but I know it would not only be a great experience, but that as a woman, it would be great to support the many others who have been affected.

Re: Crystal
Thanks! I am glad you are enjoying the blog! You are very lucky that you don't know anyone, I know more than I can count. I have been reading a two other ladies blogs that are the same age as I am (26/27) and have been battling breast cancer for 5 years. It really makes you realize that cancer does not discriminate, and it could be or why isn't it me instead of them. My grandmother was a 25 year survivor and my mom is a survivor also and hopefully with the strides we are making now we will see that cure in our lifetime
(Kara also walks and her mom and several other women in her family are survivors!)
If you ever want to talk 3-day I can go on and on! But if you interested check out your local Komen affiliate, there are always opportunities and needs for volunteers! There is also the Race for the Cure, its a 5k. I think the Chicago one is one of the largest and is in Sept. Truly is a life changing experience.
I have been so incredibly lucky to not have anyone close to me suffer from any really bad illness. I honestly don't know how I have escaped it. I am very thankful, though.
I'm going to do some more research on the 3-day. Our local affiliate is about an hour and a half away. Their race is actually coming up next month, but they are hosting another one in a different city in early fall. I'll have to keep it in mind. I'm definitely looking forward to becoming more involved in philanthropic in the near future.
