I tried an orange flavored wedding cake a few years ago and it was so good. Does anyone know where I can buy orange cake mix to make one myself or where I could buy one on short notice? Does Publix do orange cake?

Re: Orange flavored cake
How soon do you need it?
You could easily doctor up yellow cake mix with orange extract, orange zest and/or orange juice subbed for water in the mix.
ETA: here's JJ's grandma's recipe, his family is obsessed with it http://www.veggiebyseason.com/2009/08/grandmas-orange-cake.html
This is what I was going to suggest. Shouldn't be too hard.
Here's one from the Cake Mix Doctor, doesn't sound overly orangey just 1 c. juice in the mix

Thanks ladies! Ashlee, the first one you posted looks way hard, but the 2nd one looks doable. Jodi, if that doesn't come out right, I may do what you said. I've been meaning to try that recipe with sprite and cake mix.
Dumb question alert: Could I just get a regular box of white cake mix and follow the directions exactly, only subbing OJ for milk or water? Or would that not turn out right?
Yes, you can definitely do that. I always sub coffee for water in my chocolate cakes. You can really sub any liquid for the water/milk.
I would also suggest adding 1 tsp. orange zest, that's where the most flavor is.
Awesome, thanks! I will let you guys know which one I try.
Lots of trouble. He or she is grounded.
I went home from work at 10:30 Friday b/c I felt so bad. I felt ok Saturday. And then Sunday, I spent the entire day in bed, I felt so awful. Yesterday, I felt like I could get sick any second driving home from work and then did when I got home.
I'm sad I missed book club. I was really looking forward to discussing that book and the fondue! I'm so close to 2nd tri- just hoping it eases up once that happens.
Thanks for asking! How have you been feeling?
I'm actually feeling great! I'm still carrying her pretty small, so I'm not uncomfortable until just before bedtime, then I'm a bloated whale. I'm having trouble sleeping because I roll onto my stomach, push my bladder down, and have to pee every 1-2 hours. That's not fun... but I still have decent energy during the day!
I'm starting to feel her kicks and punches, which is weird and cool. But we have an understanding, if she starts kicking me in the ribs, she'll be grounded forever.
Hopefully you can come to the next one, I think by 17 weeks I had really turned the corner with morning sickness!
Oh how cool! I can't wait until the more fun part of pregnancy, once we find out what we are having and I really feel pregnant instead of just sick.
The peeing in the middle of the night sucks because I go to bed before DH and fall right asleep. He sometimes snores or breathes really loudly. So once I wake up to pee, it's so hard to go back to sleep with all the noise he's making. I had to go to the couch the night before last.
