Since I know how much you all love giving travel recommendations...
Has anyone stayed at any of the hotels on St. Augustine beach? With my mom's MS diagnosis, my parents decided to cancel our Cancun trip. My mom was really upset but I promised her we'd do a mini vacation to St. Augustine. DH and I are footing the bill for my parents and I want to get somewhere either right on the beach or directly across the street so we can get there really easily. Obviously, the nicer for the cost the better but the most important thing is that it's a pretty clean hotel and doesn't seem super old. I've looked at a ton of reviews but I'm having trouble deciding since the reviews are all over the place.

One of my co-workers stays at the Ocean and Racquet Club every year for vacation and loves it. It's on the beach side and they have beach front condos.
I've never stayed there personally so I can't tell you from personal experience but DH and I are planning to spend a few days there for Thanksgiving this year.

I hadn't even thought of doing a condo rental but it's a much more affordable option for us. Thanks for the suggestion. There are several on VRBO.com that sleep 8+ people. The only problem is that both of my sisters have boyfriends who are coming and my parents are the "no sleeping in the same bed until you're married" type. One of the boyfriends is cool with that but the other isn't thrilled that he'd spend the money to go on vacation and have to sleep in another room (which is understandable).
I'm currently trying to find two in the same complex that have 2 queen (or 1 queen and 1 king) and allow 2 night rentals. DH and I were going to take my parents for 3 days but I think my sisters have to leave after 2 so it would be a good excuse for them to get their own rental.
We'd love to go down to the keys but it's only going to be a short trip and the distance is kind of an issue. One sister is heading straight from St. Aug to Atlanta so the keys would be a much longer trip.
We stayed here as a family several years ago, and I remember it being very nice!
