We have had probably the roughest day yet today. Kevin has been wailing on and off all day, the only way I can get him to calm down is to have him lay on me or hold him. Needless to say, I've hardly ate or drank anything, I was lucky I got to go to the bathroom when he wasn't crying for 2 minutes.
We gave in and called the doctor for the prescription for baby zantec, I pray that it helps give him some relief...I miss my happy baby and I feel so bad seeing him in pain.I don't know how I'm going to go back to work in 2 weeks if he is still going through this.
It gets better right? Because on days like today I feel like its always going to be like this. Thanks for letting me vent.
Re: day from h*ll
OMG! Those first few weeks are SO hard- but it does get better- it truly does. D had horrible reflux and a milk protein allergy- so he spent weeks howling until we figured this all out.
I hope the zantac works- the meds really helped D.
Hang in there!
I'm so sorry about your day. We had many day's like that early on until we figured out reflux was the problem. Start the Zantac asap....hopefully that will make him feel better.
It WILL get better....promise. Hang in there.
It really does get better. As others have said, K didn't have reflux but was a miserable sleeper for a long time. You'll be able to go back to work, they go through their clingy phases and then it calms down. Trust me, if I can work my 60 hours a week with my little needy fuss-pot you'll be golden.
I hope your LO feels better soon.
Oh it does get better! DH and I say, even now "remember the first few weeks?".
M had reflux and has been on Zantac ever since (now is 8 months). The doctor tried to wean her off at 4 months and she was MISERABLE...back to the old, pre zantac baby...but also were not sure if she had the flu or some other illness. We put her back on and she was golden...instant transformation. We are weaning her off now and having much much much better luck.
She too also had a milk protein allergy so once off the Zantac, the doctor said we could try dairy.
It will get better.
