Snow! This must be a cruel joke

Can you believe we are getting a STORM on Friday.  Last night they reported up to TWO FEET!  I am so upset.

Re: Snow! This must be a cruel joke

  • What I heard this morning was a major rain storm. But that it all depends on the path the storm actually takes, of course. I'm not too worried about it. They are still predicting highs in the 40s for Friday.

REALLY?  They changed it to rain??  MrsC you just made me so happy!

  • I heard most likely it'll be rain too. I hate bad rainstorms too, though. This winter is pushing me to the brink of saying, "Screw family, I'm moving back to San Francisco."
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • This morning channel 7 said it's changing by the minute! Who knows... it might end up raining with a little snow at the end. It's just crazy!

  • We are supposed to be flying out to Vegas for a wedding at 1pm on Friday and this storm is making me SO MAD.  I don't know if we should rebook our flights for tomorrow (which would mean $$ and more time off work) or just hope for the best. Sad

Yikes!  That is a tough decision.  Although I would REALLY want to get out in that warm weather!

I know, we're going to wait until around noontime and if it looks like its going to be really messy I think we'll switch to a flight tomorrow.  I just feel like the forecasters sensationalize these storms a lot and if I spend $500 to change flights and add a night at the hotel I'm going to be livid if it ends up being a tiny rainstorm.

Then again, I suppose having to deal with an extra day of 85 degree weather wouldn't be that bad Wink

  • It depends which channel you're watching.  They're not going to know the rain/snow line until the storm gets here, but we definitely will be getting significant precipitation either way.  I am not pleased.
  • I heard on the radio this morning upper Worcester county is supposed to get like 6 inches but in Boston it will be mostly rain with a chance of snow later in the storm. Who knows.

That's a tough call and it sucks that the weather isn't cooperating with you.  DH is also supposed to be flying back from AZ on Friday and I'm really hoping he's not delayed since he'll have been gone for a week.  We're supposed to drive down to NYC on Saturday for a wedding on Sunday and it would be good if he could get some sleep before we hit the road.  But that's obviously not as bad as what you're facing; I hope it works out!

  • Thanks Rock!  I hope your DH gets in no problem as well!
  • SCM, I believe with impending weather, you migth have the ability to reschedule your flights without significant cost-- at least I know my dad and DH can but they travel for work so I'm not sure if that makes a difference. Good luck!
  • Mesa, that's really good to know.  I'm going to call American Airlines and check on that.  Thanks!
