s/o tattoos

Do you have one? What is it and where?

Do you want one? What?

Re: s/o tattoos

  • I have 2. One is a dolphin jumping out of the water with the sunset in the background on my lower back. The other one says "Virgo" in a pretty script font on my... I don't know what you would call it...right above the top of my underwear on the left side of my lower abdomen. Dh says it is going to say "Volkswagen" by the time the baby is born.

  • I don't have any, my parents said if I got one they wouldn't pay for college or my wedding. So I couldn't even be tricky about it.

I always wanted a ladybug on my shoulder blade, and then it switched to a cupcake, but JJ doesn't like tattoos so I don't think I'll ever get one.

  • I have a tribal looking sun on my lower back on the right hand side.  I do want to get a 2nd one of a blue crab ut I don't know when I will be able to get it done.

  • I have 3.  A dragonfly on the inside of my left wrist, a B on the top of my right foot and a pretty large 'tramp stamp' of interlacing ivy.

I don't know if I want any more.  H wants tons more.

  • I don't have any. I just don't think they're my thing. I can't think of anything that I wouldn't get sick of having on my body forever. It would have to mean something.

The closest I think I ever came was last June when I was in San Diego for the marathon. I was with 4 other people that I had trained with for the last 16 weeks & they all had tattoos. The whole process of training together & raising all of the money we did for charity & crossing off a bucket list item together was such a great bonding "life moment." In a tipsy moment I thought it would be cool if we all got a tiny beach pail/bucket (bucket list) with a palm tree growing out of it (for San Diego) with 26.2 on the bucket. Right when everyone got excited & loved the idea, I determined it was stupid & there was no way I was getting a tattoo. lol

  • I have two. The one in my post and a Christian fish on the top of my right foot with the word freedom over it. I don't think I'll be getting anymore. If it weren't for XH I would've gotten both of mine at the same time because I've wanted them both for so long. There's just not anything else I feel strongly about wanting on my body forever besides religion and my love for my pets.

  • I don't have any.  I'm not opposed to it though.  DH has 2, we've talked about getting something together sometime.  I also have thought about doing something in relation to my child.  We'll see.
  • I have 2. The first one I got when I was 19, it's a small cross on the left side of my lower abdomen. The 2nd one is my wedding date on my left wrist, I just got it in February.

  • I don't have any. After the marathon I thought about getting one.. My grandfather (in whose honor and then memory I trained) passed away just a few weeks before the race, so it was a significant time for me. But I don't really like the idea of medals, and I didn't want it to be an advertisement to others or a conversation-starter that I'd run a marathon, so I didn't want a 26.2... and I couldn't think of anything that would commemorate both the achievement and the loss that I would want to have on me forever.

I think if I ever do get one, it would be something to remind me of the importance of family -- alive and gone. I doubt I'll ever come up with something that would work for me, though.

These were some of my thoughts as well & I'm so glad I didn't do it. Even if it was in a hidden place, the memories were enough for me.

  • I will add, though... that if there were an on/off button so that I could hide it when it would be inappropriate, I would totally get a double-helix down my spine.

  • I am inkless.  It is apparently against my religion so I'm using that as my excuse.  I have had recurring dreams in which I have several tattoos.

That is so nerdy! I love it :)

If I ever got one, it would probably be a caterpillar or butterfly, but I don't really have the impetus.

  • I don't have any and don't love anything that much to have it on me forever. H has a bunch and I love them on him.

  • I have 3. A flower on my right hip, a frog on my ankle, and 3 flowers on my right big toe. I got the first one when I turned 18, the next one for high school gradaution at senior week, and the third on freshman year of college.

They aren't really noticable. I have considered getting another one but at this point in my life I would want to get something with meaning and I haven't been able to think of anything.

    I love this idea!

I have three tattoos. A butterfly on my foot, a mermaid on my thigh, and a road sign on my ankle (DH has a matching one, it is from our road trip).

  • I have 5.

My rib piece is a cherry blossom...vine? branch? thing?
I have a rose on my hip (the only one I kind of regret), Psalm 42:1 in Hebrew around my right ankle, the Andy Warhol revolver on my left ankle, and crossed nails and an ichthus (christian fish) on my right shoulder blade

    No & no.
Same here. I'm pretty vanilla. Plus I'm an extremist and either love or hate things AND I'm fickle. Those things together are not a good combination for a permanent tattoo.
  • I get bored easily and know I would end up regretting any tattoo.

  • When I was 17 I decided a butterfly tramp stamp was a great idea.
