Two babies/one adult...help!

I am going to start watching a friends baby while I stay home with Nolan. This is a great opportunity for me to be a SAHM, but I am worried about taking care of two at once.

The babies are only three days apart in age and only 3 months old. It will be like having twins. Advice? Prayers? I'll take anything you want to give me.

Re: Two babies/one adult...help!

  • Good luck! Hopefully the two babies will be on compatible schedules.

  • I'm sure it will be hard for a few weeks, but I think they are young enough that it will be easy to get in a sort of routine with them.

My advice would be to get yourself a good baby carrier (not a bjorn) so that if you have a fussy baby you can wear one and tend to the other!

I had this opportunity and I passed it up. I'm sorta regretting it now so I think you'll be fine!!!

Oh and get a bottle of wine for after those really hard days :)

  • Good luck! Hopefully they will be on pretty similar schedules and it won't be too bad for ya! Def.a good opportunity!
  • give yourself time to get to know the new baby and it won't be too hard ;) Try to keep a schedule - any routine will help.

  • I have 8 month old twins and I know the thought of two babies can be scary.  Once you start doing it though, it will all fall into place.  If you can set up a routine/schedule that works for both children, that will be a huge help and make things a little easier for you.
  • I watched my best friend's twins for quite awhile when I was out of work - I started when they were about 6 months old.  It can seem intimidating at first but really it all works out...you realize you can do all sorts of things with one hand, or no hands that you never thought possible!
