s/o hummus

I tried hummus a couple of times that people had bought and had for lunch or what have you, and was not a fan at all. But then I tried the hummus at Biscottis last year, and I LOVE that. I know that you probably can't find hummus THAT good at the store, but does anyone know of a brand/flavor that is more like that -- really flavorful, not so chick-pea-on-a-chip?

Re: s/o hummus

  • My assumption would be they use a ton of tahini, which makes it nutty-tasting and extremely creamy, almost like it's whipped.

I think sabra is the smoothest, least chickpea tasting, you can even get one that's got extra tahini, which I think you might like. If you do end up liking it, you can get giant tubs at Sams and Costco for the price of a small container at Publix.

That is what we used to buy, it's really good.  DH makes it at home now though :)

I couldn't remember the brand name, so thanks for mentioning it, Ashlee. This is my favorite:

  • Yep, another Sabra fan here. I buy the snack size portions and take them to work.

  • I also like Sabra.  Alternatively, if you like edamame/soy beans.  I've made a soy bean hummus before that's really good.

ETA: I forgot to post the recipe link!
