random fact

Someone that works for me actually just revealed that she carries around a wand. I guess her mom and her both got one, and it came from a person who works with the show "Charmed" and came with spells and everything. She was told that they actually work, but she has yet to try them. This was after telling us that she's a huge fan of Harry Potter. We insisted on seeing the wand.

Mk. Back to your days.

  • Can you imagine explaining that to Airport security?

  • Owning a wand: odd. Carrying a wand around with you: bwahahahaha Huh?

I really hope she lets you see it.

  • Confession:  When my friend and I went to Warner Bros. studios in LA we were very tempted to buy HP wands.  However, Brandon called me while we were shopping and talked me into buying a Gryffindor shirt instead.  In our defense, we were caught up in the excitement of the studio tour and we weren't planning on carrying them around with us, just having them at home for fun...or protection against demons.  Embarrassed

  • Where does she keep it?  Does she have a special wand holster?  I feel like a wand could be a stab risk if not properly secured to your body.

  • She did let me see it. It's not what I had in mind. It's sort of short and jeweled, rather than the wooden HP kind. It has a little holder with the info inside I think that keeps it contained. I love working on a college campus sometimes.

IMO, there is a huge difference in owning a wand as movie paraphernalia/keepsake and owning a wand and actually thinking it can cast spells. ;)

And owning a wand and carrying it everywhere you go.

  • Okay, now I feel better. ;)  I'm fairly confident I wouldn't carry around a wand even if I had one and I'm even more confident that I wouldn't believe it actually cast spells.

I'm with Mandee on this one. I love HP, and am a geek in my own right about things but to carry something around everyday is a bit odd.

I worked with this guy in college that was the strangest person ever. He would talk about all sorts of odd things. I'm all for everyone being able to believe and do what they want but be forewarned that if it isn't common you are going to get odd looks. So when you tell me cat pee has great properties I'm going to gag and not want to work with you.

Even odder: believing that it will actually work.
