Re: s/o tattoos
I don't have any, my parents said if I got one they wouldn't pay for college or my wedding. So I couldn't even be tricky about it.
I always wanted a ladybug on my shoulder blade, and then it switched to a cupcake, but JJ doesn't like tattoos so I don't think I'll ever get one.
I don't know if I want any more. H wants tons more.
I don't have any. I just don't think they're my thing. I can't think of anything that I wouldn't get sick of having on my body forever. It would have to mean something.
The closest I think I ever came was last June when I was in San Diego for the marathon. I was with 4 other people that I had trained with for the last 16 weeks & they all had tattoos. The whole process of training together & raising all of the money we did for charity & crossing off a bucket list item together was such a great bonding "life moment." In a tipsy moment I thought it would be cool if we all got a tiny beach pail/bucket (bucket list) with a palm tree growing out of it (for San Diego) with 26.2 on the bucket. Right when everyone got excited & loved the idea, I determined it was stupid & there was no way I was getting a tattoo. lol
I don't have any. After the marathon I thought about getting one.. My grandfather (in whose honor and then memory I trained) passed away just a few weeks before the race, so it was a significant time for me. But I don't really like the idea of medals, and I didn't want it to be an advertisement to others or a conversation-starter that I'd run a marathon, so I didn't want a 26.2... and I couldn't think of anything that would commemorate both the achievement and the loss that I would want to have on me forever.
I think if I ever do get one, it would be something to remind me of the importance of family -- alive and gone. I doubt I'll ever come up with something that would work for me, though.
These were some of my thoughts as well & I'm so glad I didn't do it. Even if it was in a hidden place, the memories were enough for me.
How is it that my BABY is going to be 3?

If I ever got one, it would probably be a caterpillar or butterfly, but I don't really have the impetus.
I have 3. A flower on my right hip, a frog on my ankle, and 3 flowers on my right big toe. I got the first one when I turned 18, the next one for high school gradaution at senior week, and the third on freshman year of college.
They aren't really noticable. I have considered getting another one but at this point in my life I would want to get something with meaning and I haven't been able to think of anything.
I love this idea!
I have three tattoos. A butterfly on my foot, a mermaid on my thigh, and a road sign on my ankle (DH has a matching one, it is from our road trip).
I have 5.
My rib piece is a cherry blossom...vine? branch? thing?
I have a rose on my hip (the only one I kind of regret), Psalm 42:1 in Hebrew around my right ankle, the Andy Warhol revolver on my left ankle, and crossed nails and an ichthus (christian fish) on my right shoulder blade
Love this!
