Seriously. What happened to this place? Where is everyone? I pop in every once in awhile, but there's really nothing new....
... tell me what's going on in your lives? Obviously there's some serious baby dust over here (I'm trying to avoid it, thankyouverymuch.)
Nothing too exciting going on for H and I... we almost got a second dog, because he looks JUST like ours, and I want him. We agreed we'll go pick him up if no one else has adopted him by this weekend. LOOK HOW CUTE HE IS: http://www.animalhumanesociety.org/adoption/detail?id=12701844
We're also starting the whole homebuying process. EEK.
Re: I'm bored.
Oh I am so jealous of your new cutie dog!! SO adorable!
And the homebuying process.
I run the 10k this Sat (yay, New Year's Res!). Also, got my bridesmaid dress for stepsister's July wedding (love them!)

We hope to start the home-buying process soon too... so many things up in the air right now! And I am mourning my twin sister's move. Sigh.
@Steph - What a cute dog! While I hope someone adopts him, that's great of you to decide you will if no one else does
@Zara - Beautiful bridesmaid dress! Good luck with the 10k, you'll have to tell us how you did!
Nothing really new here - adjusting to our new schedules/living together. It's taken some time since after we got married it was the holidays, then we went on our delayed HM, then I was away for 2 weeks for work...and now it's almost April!
I just signed up for a beginners knitting class - thanks to Baystate for the inspiration!
Other than that, it's looking for spring/summer/fall races and recruiting others to join me.
That dog is SOOOOOO adorable!
Nothing interesting over here... I finally got most of our wedding photos into some kind of usable order, we're planning or honeymoon trip to Peru for later this year, and I've been going through my mom's stuff (that totally sucks). We're also looking for a new place to live and other mundane stuff like that.
Something funny: my cousin is a marine biologist. She was snorkeling off Maui and she overheard one swimmer say to another "Wow, this water is really salty!"
Steph -- That dog is so stinkin cute! I'm a sucker for rescue dogs, especially mutts. The dirtier, the better. I can't watch the commercial with Sarah McLaughlin and the puppies and kitties with sad eyes... I can't do it. It makes me want to buy them all.
Zara -- I love that dress. I'd wear that dress even if it wasn't a BM dress.
So I got a huge raise last week. Goes into effect Friday. We're going to be putting it all into savings so that we can buy a bigger house end of next year. We have a townhouse, but it's only 2 bedrooms. I have serious house fever right now. I can't stop looking. We just got back from the Caribbean, where we went on our Honeymoon trip. That was a blast. And that's about it.
For comparison... here's our current pup, Puckett. They look identical.

Adorable dog! I hope he's still there for y'all this weekend. Bet your other dog will be excited to have a friend.
Nothing too exciting here. Still working nights, though my schedule rotates so that every 2 weeks I have 6 nights off. So it's like a mini vacation every 2 weeks. We're still trying to make a baby. Y'all need to sprinkle some of that baby dust over here!!
My family back home in Houston finally got Skype so H & I were able to speak to them about an hour ago. I haven't seen them in 2 months, so it did my heart good to get to see my dad, my nieces & nephew (my little monkeys!) and my SIL.
And MIL is trying to start drama all across the family. I had lunch with one of my SILs last week and we were comparing notes. She's revving up to start some major drama we think. Stay tuned...
Jmkes - oh dear! MIL drama? It sounds like you have a great resource and ally in your SIL. Good thing!
Also, I just know what you mean about family doing a heart good.
I am dreading my sister's move (with her three munchkins and husband). Skype will be our friend!
I'd sprinkle some baby dust if I had any.
Steph what a cute dog! I wish I could get one but I am never home and it wouldn't be fair to the poor thing.
I wish it was livelier over here, I am not the biggest fan of TB
Cute doggy, cute dress!
I'm just trying to stay busy with DH out of town. He comes home Saturday!!!! I have been quite the interesting person while he's been gone. I have:
-Done wii yoga (big deal for me, I'm kind of inactive)
-Gone sailing, and actually got to fly the spinaker (the big pretty sail out front that catches lots of wind and poufs up a lot)
-Picked out paint for the dining room - it's a beautiful, very dark blue-green (the intensity of navy). It's only going below the chair rail, so it won't make the room too dark. I have a square painted on one wall, and I'm in love. If I could make my whole house teal, I would!
-Tried to pick out paint for the kitchen. Bought two samples (both tan colors) and they turned my stomach, literally. One looks like peeled skin plastered to the wall - it's hideous. This is after trying out two different yellows... Four samples in, and I'm still stumped.
-Sanded my front door, so it's ready to paint as soon as this drippy weather clears up. It's going to be another shade of teal... a very muted, more blue-ish color, but still kind of dark. Actually, it's one shade lighter than the dining room color, but that is purely a coincidence.
-Cleaned out my closet. Got a whole banker box full of clothes, and 10 pairs of shoes to go in a garage sale that I haven't scheduled yet!
-Went to the Dallas Arboretum. 65 acres of beautifulness... the azaleas were to die for.
-Did some antique shopping at a few new places that I've never been to... One was awesome, and had all these creepy mannequins set up in weird places, like at an antique table playing poker. This provided lots of laughs with my sister!
-Went to a Cabi party... this is like tupperware, but with clothes. Cute stuff, but I spent too much. Oops. I'm blaming it on the wine!
That's all I can think of that I've been doing lately... I wish I had more things on my "while DH is gone to do list" checked off, but some days, I just lay on the couch until it is time for bed. I'm kind of pathetic like that.
Oh, and this Friday, I get to go to the Texas Rangers Opening Day game with my department at work. And my boss inquired today if I was a big drinker, because there will be alcohol on the bus ride there. At 1pm. Did I mention that I love my new job?
We are moving on Friday, or at least starting to move. H and I have been seriously redecorating the kitchen, master bedroom, and bathroom of our new apartment, and we're starting to paint the kitchen today, after four days of spackling/sanding. I can't wait to move. I can't.
H is also officially halfway done with his EMT course. He got a 94.4 on his midterm exam, which was the second-highest grade in the class (AWing my husband here for a minute, forgive me, I'm just so proud of him!). With any luck he'll be hired quickly after he finishes and takes his licensing exam in June.
I applied for a new job a few weeks ago, but I haven't really been talking about it because a) I want it so badly it almost hurts and b) they stop receiving applications in the middle of April, so it will be awhile yet before I know if I have it or not.
I still have the "baby-rabies", and sometimes it's tough, especially when so many of my friends are pregnant (five people I know IRL now!), but H and I are waiting until November/December to start TTC. Our original plan was to start in June, but I think waiting an extra six months will be better for both of us, mentally and financially.

Pics?? What's your dog? Our is a husky/golden mix. I think he's quite handsome, if I do say so myself
Angie- you've been far more busy/productive than me, that's for sure.
Bay- I stalk your blog regularly, hope that's ok. I can't wait to see pictures of your new apartment once you're all settled into it

OK, maybe a little different! Anytime I see a dog that's black and tan I think they look the same! Ha ha. She's a mostly german shepherd, rottie, and then a little boxer, and rhodesian ridgeback (we had her DNA tested through one of those kits when we got her because we were so curious).
