I want to crawl into a hole

It's a vent, something to get this off my mind so I can focus and get back to work. For the love of Pete I wish this were mud but it's so awful it's true.

Bro called my last night at 9 o'clock to tell me he went to visit my mother's grave and he was worried there was glass smashed all over. There had been a few vases of flowers and when he got there, they were broken. He took a picture, but didn't call the police, and then picked it all up. I can't even describe the rage/anger/hurt/devastated feeling that keeps welling up inside of me.

I accidently dropped my coffee all over the inside of my car this morning, blah. I see no reason to keep going today; I want to go home and crawl back into bed.

Re: I want to crawl into a hole

  • (((HUGS))))  I am so sorry.  What a disgrace.  There are no words for someone evil enough to desicrate (sp?) a grave site.
  • I am so sorry! Good that he took a picture--I saw something on TV recently where that kept happening to a particular grave so the police set up a hidden camera and caught the person doing it. That is so hurtful.

I think I might at least call the police department and talk to them about this. They could advise you on whether it is worth your brother coming down and filling out a police report.

Sorry about the coffee too! I have had that--spilled coffee all the way down my shirt in the car on the way to work. Not a good start to the day, to put it mildly.

  • Not to detract in any way from what is highly upsetting to you - but it is it at all possible they got blown over and broken??  I, like you, would love to believe that people would leave graveside mementos alone!  Just wanted to ask.

This is what I was thinking too.

  • I'm gonna send you a big hug and hope your day gets better!

I'm sorry about the vases.  Hopefully it was the wind. I just can't understand how or why anyone could have so much meanness in their blood to horribly disturb someone's grave like that.   :(

  • I also thought that it might have simply been blown over as well.

It's ok to take a mental health day just for yourself. You don't always have to keep on pushing through.

((( big hug for you )))

    Hope is not a strategy.
  • I'd really like to believe it was the wind or just an animal, but unfortunately, I think the "animal" that did it was my father. There was this small baby carraige vase that was smashed too; small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. It was broken to peices, like someone had stomped on it, so I know it wasn't the wind. I have no words at this point, other than the sincere hope that karma really is a b!tch.
