moms???

i have read different things about this topic but i am curious about what real ppl think. are teething & diaper rash connected??? liam is getting his 2 yr molars. he is not affected by this at all i would not even know if it wasnt for him always having his finger in his mouth lately.

well yesterday he was outside for awhile and when he came in to eat he was sitting funny in his chair and told me he had a poopoo. well poor guy. it wasnt very much but what was there was acidy and it leaked out one side of his diaper and literally burned his leg. i feel so bad. i put a variation of cyko's home remedy on him and it looks "better" this am. anyone have this happen??

Re: moms???

  • funny i just read an article on tis yesterday and it said it wasnt related.   However, P's poops have been really acidy lately and have been burning her.  I have been wondering about teething too since she is almost 2, but i dont see anything when i look in her mouth.  She hasnt been eating anything different either.

  • thats the thing, i cant feel or see teeth either but he never puts his fingers in his mouth, wasnt a paci kid either so i am just assuming its his teeth. hasnt eaten anything different. could be coincidence but this has never happened. his leg looks awful. :(

  • ouchie :( My little ones always have yucky poops when they're teething. And my dr has said it can be from that. It could also be from eating too much fruit. Poor babe.
  • M's teething right now (eye teeth & molars, yikes!) and she had some horrendous poops last week that gave her a nasty rash.  I am assuming it is the teeth, although she had spent the previous day with my MIL so she may have been fed something.... Hmm

  • It's not teething per se that causes it, but the extra saliva that they swallow when teething. That extra saliva can irritate their tummies and then you see the ouchie poops. I spend days researching this when Maddy was 4 months old and we first suspected a milk issue. Definitely can happen. Poor guy, hope he's better soon!

And FYI - my fav fav fav diaper rash cream is called CJ's Butter - I bought it originally b/c it's cloth diaper safe but it's turned out to be the best thing on both my kids' bums. That and just straight tea tree oil.

  • in my experience, it was always a hint that teething was happening.
