Let's hang out. Is your machine portable? Bring it (and miniburger) over, and I'll try to help you out. I was once clueless and scared to give clothes a shot. Now I'm still clueless, making a lot of mistakes, but also getting some cute clothes for the kids cranked out.
I think you could totally do the pants. Here's what I did: http://www.dana-made-it.com/2008/07/tutorial-and-pattern-kid-pants.html

Re: Freeburger
ooh I'm so in! I'd love to! And those pants are awesome. I'm home all day everyday with Ben, so just let me know what works best for you
And LOL at miniburger!
Wouldn't slider be the right term.
butting in: I was going to suggest PJ pants as a first sewing project, but that's basically what those are, with different fabric.
My son's grandma sews a lot of pants for him. She always puts a small ribbon in the waistband on the back, so it's easy to tell the front from the back when dressing him.
I would have never thought of doing that, so I thought I'd pass that tip along.
Hilarious
Even better!
Laura, thanks for the tip! If I actually learn to sew I am definitely keeping that in mind!
Most days are open for us. I'll send you a message to get this set up.
