what was your best vacation ever and why?

Re: dragging a$$-QOTD

  • Hands down it would have to be our honeymoon.

    1. Because we just got married

    2. Becase we were in beautiful Kona, Hawaii

  • my best was probably when i was 22 my parents as a gift got me a week in a small house alone in the florida keys.  it was spring break and i was surrounded by drinking college students, but i just alone and i relaxed, read, ate shrimp, and didn't care about anything for 5 days.  i dont think i got dressed once, aside from throwing on a dress over my swimsuit to go get shrimp for dinner every night.
  • I'm calling it a vacation but it was really a study abroad trip in London over the summer. It was also my graduation present (a year early) for my bachelor's from my parents. It was so amazing getting to see all that history and visit all the different places. I say vacation because we had Thursday-Sunday to travel to wherever we wanted. I took weekend trips to Ireland (dying to go back), day trip to Scotland, Dover (omg the white cliffs are amazingly beautiful and was able to see France!) and Greenwich where I stood on the Prime Meridian. The 5 weeks flew by and I'm sure I'll never get to experience anything like that again.

  • My best vacation was when I was probably 12ish. My family hopped in a car one labor day weekend and drove. We had no reservation. We ended up driving to Maine stayed in this seedy cabin type hotel, it was gross. I have so many found memories of that vacation.

  • I'm really pissed because I've been to so many places that I really should have enjoyed so much more than I did, but my vacations were always absolutely ruined by my family.

With all my heart, I wish I could say the European cruise I went on w/ my fam before junior year of college. But it sucked. It was a Disney cruise. I managed to get out of baby sitting my very young cousins, but I somehow ended up stuck baby sitting my grandfather who tried to PEE ON every single thing we saw. Including: the trevy fountain, the coloseum, the ruins at pompeii, replicas of famous statues in Venice, churchs in Barcelona, Nice, Marsailles and Capri and IN St. Peter's Basilica. Sadly, the best parts of my trip were drinking at the jazz lounge on the ship with my dad, giving up my seat on my family's flight home and getting to fly alone and H picking me up at the airport.

I think I'm going to say Maui before senior year of high school. I managed to spend the entire vacation on the beach, surfing, kayaking or biking and avoiding my family except for my dad.

(An unmatched left parenthesis creates an unresolved tension that will stay with you all day.

The keys are greg and mine favorite place in the ENTIRE world! We will live there at one point in our lives. It helps the inlaws own a home on one of the keys and will give it to us once they buy another one.

I think we will be the only people who own a vacation home but rent where they actually live..

  • Cancun for Christmas when I was 15. I was young, wild, crazy and carefree! I spent a week on the beach in beautiful weather with a smoking hot Australian guy :-)
  • Too too many to choose from, but my top two would be Cozumel with my brother his wife (then gf) and me and H (then bf), about 4 years ago. So relaxing to just sit at the pool all day, and eat all the time. Second would have to be my honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii so amazing being married in such a beautiful place!!!

    Fourth Anniversary

I'm super late on this, but wanted to play.  But it's so hard to choose!

My parents took us on a lot of cool trips when we were kids, so I look at certain parts of each of them with awe.  Like Kauai, where we spent a week in a rustic cabin with an outdoor (roof less!) shower, where it would rain for 20 minutes and we'd sit on the porch and wait for the rainbow to come out.  Or our big tour of Mexico, where we went to tons of Mayan ruins, which I photographed for a History Day project (State finals, woot!) and then got bit on the ass by a monkey.

The honeymoon is probably my favorite, though, because Croatia was so beautiful, and we were just on such a high, coming off the wedding.
