Clearly, I'm winning.

So the past two days Em's been in an awesome mood. And clearly her teachers have noticed. Today when one was putting her in the car she told me that she's been so awesome the past two days. I told her that she's been going to bed really early and sleeping all night in her room. It's made a world of difference. And then the teacher said something about how sometimes kids are just hungry and need food or something. And I was all yeah, blah blah. bye.

Fast forward to an hour or so ago and Em was laying her head on the sofa and I asked her what was wrong and she told me she was tired, when I asked why she said. "Because I didn't eat breakfast." NOT TRUE! She had yogurt and a fruit leather. I think she's telling her teachers that I don't feed her breakfast!!!!! She's really easily persuaded. Always has been. If she sees someone coughing on tv, she has a cough. If someone has a cut, she has a cut. I wonder if her teachers say, "You seem tired, did you eat breakfast today?" And then she's all, "No." Because she does this w/ Wes and I all the time too. What do I do? Do I ask her teachers when I drop her off tomorrow if she tells them that? I mean she eats breakfast everyday. CPS is gonna come ringing my doorbell. UGH. Kids ;)

  • I would ask her teachers the next time you drop off.  It seems that is exactly what she is doing.

LOL!  I remember my DD's kindergarten teacher telling the parents, "I promise not to believe everything your children says about you, if you promise not to believe what they say about me".  She knew that kids that age can come up with all sorts of stories, the majority of them not true.... so, hopefully if Emma is telling them that she doesn't eat breakfast, that they realize it is not the case!  haha.  It wouldn't help to drop them a few hints about it though!  Too funny.
  • cheeky little emma!! i would talk to the teacher just to make sure she knows miss em is eating breakfast every morning.

This is very true! I would just straight up ask the teacher if Em's been saying that.

  • Do you think it has to do with she thinks yogurt and fruit leather are snacks and things like eggs and cereal are breakfast foods??  maybe try in the morning asking her if she would like X for breakfast.

or she may just be trying to get more food at snack time at school if they have that still.

  • I think she's just overly dramatic and likes the extra attention :) But today I asked her teacher and she said that she's been extra great lately so no worries. Plus I told them she eats breakfast. ha! Today she had cereal w/ bananas, a yogurt, a fruit leather AND juice and milk. The kid EATS.
  • OMG Ty used to do this...but with his Dad.  Say it were my weekend with Ty.  I would bring him to his football game, and then after the game Ty would say to his Dad "I'm really hungry...I didn't eat breakfast" and then I'd get a REAMING from my ex.  Apparently, Ty would tell them all the time that he didn't eat before a game, or before being dropped off at their house...and it just wasn't true.  And this was when Ty was older, I'm talking like 3rd/4th grade age.  He just "forgets" that he already ate.  He still does it NOW!  He'll say he's hungry, he didn't eat dinner...and I have to remind him "um, Ty, we ate 3 hours ago".  I then get a vacant "oh...yeah".  UGH!  I can only imagine what he told his teachers.

  • Pam!! Em forgets too, she does the, "I didn't eat dinner" thing too!! Drives me batty! Is he a really good eater? I think she just loves food and likes to eat for one and two she forgets, and three she likes the attention :)
  • Ty's always been a great eater.  He too loves food.  We call him "our hobbit".  If you've ever seen Lord of the Rings you'll get this, but he can eat second dinner, third breakfast...HAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA!  And he's so THIN!

  • that's exactly Emma, she has second lunch all the time. And has to have food when I pick her up in the car on the way home to eat her first lunch. She's also really thin. It's nuts.
