Hey there -
I just had a chance to read your blog post about both children and saw your food struggles with Ben and wanted to share a recipe for grilled cheese I tried that sneaks in some veggies. ![]()
When I make Gianna grilled cheese, I spread a little butternut squash puree on one piece of bread and then put the cheese on and cook regularly. DH even ate it this way and he's super picky. She does well with veggies and eating in general, but I figure if I sneak in veggies everywhere now while there aren't feeding issues, she'll be used to grilled cheese and the other stuff just having veggies in them so it will be normal to her.
I roasted a bunch of it a few weeks ago and then froze it in ice cube trays and just have the cubes in ziploc bags so I can grab one and toss it in stuff or defrost and spread like in this case.
Figured I'd pass along in case it might help you sneak in some veggies. ![]()
Re: **Michele**
THanks. The problem right now is he won't even try things. His diet consists of chicken nuggets (I try to sneak the veggie ones and occasionally it works), apple, maybe cantaloupe & honeydew, strawberries, occasionally diced carrots (the baby kind!), bread, and cheese. Sometimes yogurt and applesauce.
He won't eat pasta, potatoes, or anything we eat. He was so bad last night when I told him he had to take just a small taste of the taco mac that when it hit his lips he actually gagged so much he puked. It barely touched his lips!!!
I'm making a sticker chart for potty training and am also making one for trying new foods, etc. I don't know what else to do. He hates food!
