Ruumba vacuum?

What are your thoughts on it?  Looking to get a new vacuum and know a lot about the Dyson, but not so much about the robot one :)

Re: Ruumba vacuum?

  • I love mine.

One thing I will warn you about, because it might drive certain people crazy, is that it leaves crazy patterns on the carpet.  It goes around a bit randomly, so it can leave long diagonal vacuum lines in the carpet.

  • I love my ruumba for weekday in-between cleanings. Usually a couple nights a week after work I'll turn that bad boy on to pick up the dog hair mostly accumulating on the rug, and the dust collecting on the hardwood.  On the weekends though I still use my standard vaccuum, I find that ruumba still doesn't do as good of a job as a human. It misses lots of spots.
  • Ditto PP - I love mine for keeping up with fur and dust but I still vacuum weekly with the regular vacuum.
  • I love my roomba!!! I have the one made for pet hair. Make sure you clean it thoroughly after every use, and buy it from someplace with a really good warranty (like Bed Bath and Beyond or Hammacher Schlemmer (sp?)) because they do break. I have all hardwood and tile, and it works so well. It doesn't work as well on carpet.
