Sweet Valley Confidential came out yesterday, and I'm only slightly ashamed to say that my copy is currently on its way to me. Ahem. I devoured those books (and the Twins books) when I was younger. I never got into the University series, though, and I was long past interested by the time the tv show premiered.
Anyone else planning to regress a bit?

Re: Any Sweet Valley fans?
True fact: Regina Morrow's death kept me from trying anything harder than pot in college. Not that it came up all that often, of course, but I always had an undetected heart murmur in the back of my mind whenever someone talked about hard drug use. So thanks, Francine Pascal!
And I was totally an Elizabeth who secretly wanted to be a Jessica.
Wow.
Looking back, those books were SO snotty. I'm not sure if I'd even want my DD reading such snobbery.
But they were fun.
LOL at LilaFowler coming out of nowhere to comment on this post. Are you a Boston Nestie?
I've forgotten most of the books' storylines and had to look up Regina Morrow (because I'm that bored at work). I didn't realize Francine Pascal just supervised a bunch of ghost writers, or that the series only stopped publishing in 2003. I'm sure that included a bunch of spin-offs.
OMG, YES!
I still own all of mine. I missed some towards the end (when I was getting into high school) so I am going to catch up on some of the college and junior high (versus twins) ones before I start Confidential.
I also can't believe the public outrage over Elizabeth having an orgasm. SHE'S 27, peeps, get over it!
I have no idea what this refers to, but there should be more outrage if she hadn't had one by that age
I haven't read it completely but apparently, in the first chapter, she has a bunch of orgasms (and cries after each one, lol). On public forums, people can't believe that they portray Elizabeth as having an orgasm because they remember her as the little perfect size six girl.
And, I agree, she should be having orgasms! LOL

When you're reaaaaally bored at work and feeling nostalgic, I highly recommend 1Bruce1 - they recap all of the SV books, and (most of) the reviews are really hilarious.
And a double "hee!" to Lila Fowler coming out of the woodwork.
I used to love sweet valley twins and high, and had no idea that the books progressed to adulthood. My childhood views of Elizabeth are forever changed!
