so i am struggling with liam too. i started this week with 2 new things. introducing new things to him. i figured if i keep putting it there he might take a bite. and no snacks after nap time.
the 1st night he ate 0 peas. all he said was yuck and eew. the 2nd night it was given to him 1st and he ate a few on their own ( we called them green rocks) and then one spoonfull with 5 of them on it. i was super happy with that. i will give him more with his dinner tonight. i also did celery with PB for lunch today. he took a few bites of the celery ( which i called a cracker) and then just ate the PB out of it. i left the plain celery on his tray and he ended up taking a couple more bites.
i want to get to the point where i tell him "you eat this or its nothing" but it would break my heart to not feed him anything....
i think the no snacks after nappy has worked great too, he is super hungry at dinnertime.
so those are my ideas right now i would love to hear if you or anyone else has any good ones to share!!!
Re: michele.....lets talk food.
This stage is SO frustrating! Ben ate everything until about 18 months and now it's torture.
I have cut back on post-nap snacks but he does get one at daycare, and our dinner time is later with Jerred's work hours so he's allowed one snack at like 3/4:00 but only one cup of milk now once he gets home.
I have been trying that this week too - I give him one thing I know he'll eat and he's not allowed to get down until he at least tries the other thing (usually whatever we're having for dinner).
I wonder if I could sell peas to him as something dinosaur related.... that's a great idea!
I have actually sent him to bed without dinner and it doesn't matter, he just will refuse to eat.
