What to give someone for a new home?

a little gift that is not wine... person is a super duper wine connoisseur and that would be a fail

  • i like to buy a plant, either potted or i buy a nicer basket (instead of ceramic pot) for it too. orchids or pothos plants usually. dracena/corn tree is also nice.

I don't know how much you want to spend but I love wish bowls.

I don't have one but did get a very nice wooden bowl for our wedding and I love it.

  • gift card so they can decorate? i just recently bought a personalized plaque with their family name and closing date... it was nice and simple... they can hang it, or put it in a garden, i believe it was less than $35

  • I've done both the gift card thing and the plant thing! Since it's spring you can get some really pretty potted plants this time of year. You could also get a nice candle if they are candle people.

  • I've given plants or gift cards. Once I purchased a nice vase and brought to a florist for them to put an arrangement in! Someone gave us a basket with a really soft blanket, some yankee candles and a bottle of wine. Maybe do something like that minus the wine!

  • i think a home depot/lowes or BBB gift card is a great idea!  The candles are good too, if you know what scents they like

  • I just received this magazine that has a lot of cute decor and some hostess items that might be nice.  it is SO cheap as well!

Lakeside.com - I always like the wire wall decor that holds the candles.

  • plants are always nice.  Also if they love wine what about a cheese/fruit basket to go with the wines they like.
